Supergirl isn't on next week. Is it on a mid season break?

Yes. That was (and the others will be) the shows' mid-season breaks. Won't be back on Sky until Feb or March.

That crossover was so cool!
I was actually punching the air when the Legends spaceship rescued Arrow and co. from the Dominator ship at the end of that episode. I loved how they didn't try to gloss over the fact that Supergirl could have wiped the floor with all of them with one hand tied behind her back. When Oliver told her to not hold back when he asked her to spar with them I was thinking - well, if you really all want to die, sure ![]() I liked how they managed to progress all of the story lines for each show in addition to addressing hte Dominator story, too. Interesting that they gave Supergirl that communicator / travel device. Looks like they're not finished with the crossover idea yet! |

I did rather get the feeling that Supergirl was kind of shoe-horned into the crossover at the last minute (having been on a different network until this season, I believe).
The actual Supergirl episode wasn't part of the crossover at all and even the bit at the end was lifted directly from the Flash episode. She appeared to have less to do overall in the crossover episodes and was sidelined several times and much of what she did do could have been done by one or more of the other characters. It just felt a bit like - Oh Supergirl is now on the same network, so we'd better write her into the crossover. |

What did you think when Oliver told her not to join them in the fight? Personally I thought he was out of order. Barry was the one who brought them together so it was his call but yes the travel device obviously means there will be more crossovers.
It seemed more of a plot device than a believable piece of character development. Rather like Thea's absence in the last episode, for that matter. A crossover like that was clearly going to be a nightmare in terms of availability of cast members and scheduling. I think that's the main reason behind their side-lining of different characters at different times. That aside though, I thought they did a pretty good job, all things considered. |

So the next one she'll probably more involved. Who knows, there might be a superman series as well. I know many don't believe that's gonna happen but you don't get Tyler Hoechlin for just the odd cameo. Also supergirl ratings in the eps in was in were around 3m and they went down there after.
Seems inevitable there will be more mini-Justice league stories within the Supergirl show now there's Superman, Jon Jones, Mon El, The Guardian, ... So no real need for a separate Superman show as it would be too similar to Supergirl anyway seeing as they're already in the same universe. At least the crossover kept the others separated in their own universe with just a brooch to tie the two universes as and when they want the ratings boost. |

I'd turned off by then so, okay. 23rd Jan (US) for this show, according to epguides.com, so I would have expected it back on Sky in February at the earliest so we didn't have any breaks but maybe their showing it synched with the US for a change.

I found his attitude a little hard to believe, to be honest. I could kind of get that he found all the super-powered people in the form of the meta's a bit of a culture shock and Supergirl's even more awesome powers really hard to adjust to but, at the end of the day, they were fighting for people's lives and she was their best asset. It seemed a bit out of character for him not to be more pragmatic and swallow his own feelings for the greater good.
