A launch night twist will reportedly see the housemates split into groups on Big Brother: Timebomb.

The new series kicks off this Tuesday night and reports suggest that the housemates will be pitted against each other from the off.

According to the Daily Star, the move could end up causing arguments within “hours”.

A source told the tabloid this week: “From the very start housemates will separated into smaller groups.

“It’s only going to be a matter of hours before they start bitching behind each other’s backs.”

It was revealed today that – for the first time EVER in Big Brother history – the Big Brother 2015 housemates will be revealed BEFORE the live launch.

A 48-hour countdown will commence on Friday and end at midnight on Sunday where the profiles of all of this year’s cast will be unveiled.

We’ll then have two days to get to know the latest crop of wannabes before they step foot inside the house during Tuesday night’s live launch show on Channel 5 from 9PM.

Speaking about this year’s BBUK housemates recently, Bit on The Side’s Rylan Clark teased: “We’ve got young, middle aged and older — and although we’ve got the typical stereotypes, they don’t fit the bracket they’re in. So, for example, a young, pretty girl might not be what she seems.”

And he admitted: “You might have seen a couple of the contestants if you really dug for them.”

It’s all very exciting!

Oh goodie, so much for an upbeat series then

The usual 'let's get them at each others throats from the off' opening twist

I thought they said this year would be more upbeat.

If this is what they are going for it's already putting me off.

I hate twists on the first night ...

A twist is when something unexpected happens; it stopped being that years ago.
Biggest twist would be if they had an old regular school launch.

There isn't a single aspect of this series so far that is filling me with confidence.

I WILL reserve judgement, however, it sounds as though BB is already off course and headed for complete disaster this year. I hope I'm proven wrong!

Producers should be treading very carefully after BB15 and listening to the fans as they know that they cannot afford to make any more mistakes. The minute World War 3 breaks out people will switch off in droves, NOBODY wants to watch a ten-week row, when will they realise this?! I think it's quite possible that we could see the worst ratings for a regular BB ever this year.

Exactly!!

I'm okay with arguments between HMs that develop naturally but when they are engineered deliberately then that's a definite no-no. Fight Night may have gone a bit overboard but BB absolutely wanted some sort of row between Emma and Michelle and the other HMs

But if they let things develop naturally, they might get "another bb4"; so they never will.

I was going to say that the fundamental problem is that the basic BB format, "people in a house", is simply not interesting enough; but then I remembered that BBC 4 had a minor hit the other day with a show that was just a boat going along a canal. It was just the sights and sounds as it passed.

So maybe "people in a house" could work. But I don't think it would work with enough of BB's current audience.

I wonder if it's a split based on age. Rylan hinted at more older people in the show and it would fit with the 'past, present and future' theme of timebomb.

15 Housemates (the amount of beds in the bedroom):
Five 18-30 housemates
Five 31-40 housemates
Five 40+ housemates

Older people dont last very long in regular bb, unlike the celeb one, that's why they are kept to a minimum.

The two shows seem to have different audiences now as well

I don't want them to listen to the fans as a general rule, because I often disagree with "the fans". For example, the fans wanted vote-to-save; I never did.

However, in some cases, the fans are clearly right.

FGS why can't they just let them walk in and have a normal first night, what is this obsession with launch night twists

and as for revealing the hms before launch - NO NO NO NO that is so wrong, the way they are going there wont be any point watching the launch they are revealing everything in advance and leaving no surprises!

Well there's the first nomination meddling waiting to happen. The winning group will be immune or the bottom group will be automatically up.

Spot on, they can't help meddling

I predict they're going to be having ex-housemates serving as mentors for the smaller groups, rehashing the twist from BBUSA.

Now imagine Helen mentoring some new HM.

With advice such as:
* bitch behind your target's back to ensure your mates are on the same page you are;
* always have an excuse that your target somehow "started it";
* knowing that you're backed at least implicitly by your mates, rant your target into submission if they dare to fight back;
* say enough to your target's face that viewers forget that you bitched behind their back, and behind other backs too;
* and finally, rely on BB to use twists and tasks to help you stay in and to give you ammunition, because you're now a "big character" who's "providing the entertainment".

That's hardly the twist revealed is it?

I think they will do all they can to justify axing BB by making it depressingly unwatchable by having constant arguments and bitching from the start, caused by suitably engineered twists, and scripted scenarios.
It is no longer something to look forward to, they might as well put it out of its misery until someone takes it on and does it properly.

I'm sure most people would just love a live feed, less meddling, no contact with the outside world, and hilarious tasks!

Or maybe that's the old BB lover in me
