As it's the General Election today, I thought it would be topical for us to reflect on some hits from General Election years. It will dominate tv and the papers until at least Sunday, and maybe days or weeks depending on the result.

By way of a reminder, the GEs since the war have been in 1945, 1950, 1951, 1955, 1959, 1964, 1966, 1970, 1974, 1979, 1983, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2010 and today in 2015.
