Netflix – Any Way to Buy a 12 Month Subscription?
I have enjoyed Netflix pretty much since it came to the UK and think the quality of their home grown series like Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, etc are superb. In terms of content and streaming quality they are way ahead of Amazon and Now TV IMHO.
However, one bugbear I have always had with Netflix is the very rigid subscription model, and last year’s price increase hasn't helped either. I don’t understand why, if you know you want to stay subscribed, you can’t just buy say a year in advance for a reduced price like you can with other subscription services e.g. gaming services like Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold. I know monthly subscriptions are great for those who like to be on one month off the next but for those who know we want the service all year round it feels like we are paying more for flexibility we don’t actually want. So basically, I would like to know if there actually IS a way to buy more than a month of Netflix at a time? Or if not already, is there something like this in development for those who wish to? |

What is the point unless it is cheaper?
Set up a PayPal subscription which you cancel any time. |

You can buy Netflix gift cards from Morrisons and then apply them to your account and that credit will be used before your card. However there is no "discount" and the values are round pounds, not monthly subscriptions.
![]() Maybe I'm just odd wanting to buy 12 months Netflix and expecting to, shock, horror, actually save a bit of cash in the process but people routinely buy 12 months ps plus and 12 months x box live way cheaper than the monthly rate and now EA access does the same thing on Xbox One too so my argument is still why not movie and entertainment services like Netflix. |

This is quite a saving but how would you actually do that? I'd guess VPN needed through sign up?

That little birdie the same unfounded speculation that's been going around for some time or something more concrete?
I must admit, if Netflix do stop it, then I may have to think about my subscription. |

I think a Netflix annual subscription would be a good idea, Amazon Prime do one (which I have).

Not that Amazon is any good anyway, the UI is awful, trying to find something on there is like looking for a needle in a haystack. |

When you think of how much Sky is, Netflix seems cheap enough, although I hope that doesn't become the existence for this to go up as well. Sky Movies for example on satellite is at least £40 a month and that's not even in HD!

I actually did buy a 12 month subscription to Netflix a couple of years ago when they still sold them themselves as I had the spare money. I'd always prefer to do it that way personally as I can't really commit to the monthly payments, so it's good to know that you can now get the gift cards again in this country.

I've not noticed any differences at all, Unlocator still works for me 100% of the time.
But do it allow you to choose different netflix locations not just the US one? The other thing i like about Unblock US is that I can get rid of the subtitles on Netflix |

Why on earth pay in advance, Netflix offers pee poor content. I only subscribe because the grand kids like some of the programmes.
Personally I find there's plenty to satisfy my viewing habits, whether or not I would be interested in paying 12 months up front would all depend on if there was some incentive to do so. |

Never knew you could buy a Netflix gift card. if that's the case I will get my sister one for her birthday in just over 3 months time from the Morrison store in the next town to mine. As I have been using her Netflix account at times.
