Has Manipulation, and Rating 'whoring' Ruined BB?
HaloJoe

Viacom spits out so much shit. Are they dragging BB into their own model of 'reality' here in the UK?

'controversy creates cash'

Should this be the BB slogan from now on?

I love BB, but i worried this series will be so hell bent on creating 'headlines', it'll lose what has made original BB's great.

Give them the ingredients for the pot, but stop stirring it for them etc...

Can't we minimise BS, and let it flow naturally this year? I hope so.

(i think not though).

TBF I don't think Viacom can make it any worse than it has been for the past few years.

It's already more like Geordie Shore ect than the BB that was once loved.

This is the first year that Viacom have owned Channel 5 and they are just carrying with this version of Big Brother that Channel 5 ruined so I predict this upcoming series will be the most manipulated and staged series ever as Viacom do own MTV who have shows like Geordie Shore, Jersey Shore, Teen Mom etc.

The real Big Brother is never coming back

I fear you're right........The whole original concept of Big Brother has been (lack of a better term) raped!

And now, Viacom all over it. I dread the worse.

But hey, it's not started yet. Optimism, be it a small amount, is still there.

Viacom should be cleaning up the mess richard Desmond and Jeff Ford made, not making things 100 times worse.

I fear Viacom are going to make this into a 'reality' show!

If they practise the same in what they're prone to doing with other reality based programming with this BB? WE ARE F*******

Me too I've been into it since BB1.
However I haven't watched any of the last 2 CBB's and jumped ship half way through the last BB.
At one time that would have been utterly unthinkable for me.

Same...BB! was gripping (being it new etc). I was 12 years old. It was the 'in thing'. You were cool if you watched

I've watched every one since....I remember when E4 had the LS on BB2. I was gripped. I miss those days!

I don't blame you for missing the last couple of CBB's.....Bad edits, ulterior motives, nasty stuff, Promotion of bullying and 'scandel'...Watchable, but not a joy to watch!

Controversy does create cash and has done since the beginning of time.

It's all about sex and the big "scoop" these days.

That's the thing really,I liked seeing people having a good laugh together and taking part in tasks as a team with that "we're all in it together" feeling.
For the past few years that feeling just hasn't been there.
It's become a marathon of misery, which is very hard going on the viewer in my opinion.

I would be relatively happy if they kept it to the CBB series. But, they seem to be ruining the 'civilian' series every year.

Im feeling all negative......Till Tuesday, i shall attempt to remain optimistic!

I feel very spoilt by an extended series of Coach Trip all winter. There you get plenty of drama and personality clashes but the overall atmosphere is lots of fun. I just can't raise much enthusiasm for the over-manipulated C5 BB any more. I'll still follow the story but more by reading it online than watching it.

I see people are blaming C5, and C5's owners, just as people used to blame C4.

Most of the blame ought to go to the main common element: Endemol.

It's at least arguable that controversy cost BB millions of viewers, which presumably would cost some cash as well.

I agree. When BB was like this and had HMs that were relatively normal people, it was a joy to watch. It was fantastic viewing and I wish that BB was like that again.

IMO, yes. They've squeezed all the excitement by burning through twists.

No one in my neighbourhood watched this year's CBB because KH, they did the same with Hell-en's Big Brother and Jim Davidson's

I hope there's no disgusting people this year or it will be another flop
