In which case, you had better avoid newspapers, newspaper websites, newsagents, the BBC News channel, BBC Radio One and Two, news websites, entertainment websites, Doctor Who websites, Twitter and every promo section on BBC One.

Good luck in your cave.

Besides, does it ever occur to you that BBC Wales releases such information in order to spark discussion? We have the mystery of how Osgood could still be alive. That's a premise in itself.

Well we're yet to find out. Cleopatra Dickens is a brilliant name for someone in a program about time travel though!

The picture of Oliver is now on the front page - so it's not even hidden. I'm amazed this is even a thing.

Indeed. I find it bizarre that people don't grasp the whole purpose of press releases.

With any TV show or movie, the production team release a certain amount of information in the months before the launch. No major production is ever promoted and discussed in the ambiguous and secretive way that a tiny minority of Doctor Who fans feel is their entitlement.

One last time...

I find it bizarre that some people can't have a disagreement and debate a point without being patronising to the point of being insulting.

Of course I understand the purpose of press releases and the whole hype industry in general. I disagree with this and any press release that gives away important plot points.

No need to be insulting and patronising. Here in my "cave" I can avoid Doctor Who news, and still have access to all the other media you so kindly listed for me. Though broadcast media are a risk, admittedly.

Everywhere else.

Except on this forum. Because people won't use spoiler threads and insist on headlining their threads with spoilers. Apparently it's some sort of "civil liberties" thing and more less "everyone does it" so that makes it okay.

That means I won't be able to participate in all the non spoiler subjects I am interested in. Thanks for your concern.

Bye for now.

It means you won't want to participate. The choice is entirely yours.

You are welcome to impose a news blackout upon yourself. However, you can't realistically expect a news item - displayed clearly on the front page of this site - to be discussed privately in partitioned areas of the forum for your benefit.

It hasn't been possible to view major TV shows and movies entirely "cold" for the last 20 years. The industry is so fragmented and so competitive that shows like Doctor Who need to be promoted aggressively. And the purpose of that promotion is largely to spread interest by getting people to talk openly about the news. You're fundamentally opposed to the mechanism which sustains interest in the show you enjoy.

Besides, the survival of Missy and the apparent survival of Osgood may well be the central premise of those episodes. Not necessarily plot points or twists.
