Joseph David-Jones totally nailed it as Connor Hawke and I loved the reveal of him being Diggle's son, he carried off the influence of his father brilliantly, he really was a Diggle Junior. I hope that wasn't the last we ever see of him!
Although, interestingly in an interview on EW, David-Jones says
Poor Ollie, all alone in the bottom of Smoak Tower with a shell of the Arrow Cave but no-one else to share it with and there was something rather poetic about it being Sara who brought back his bow and suit. Very The Dark Knight Returns/Batman Beyond feelings from all that and his missing arm, although they failed to give us the right beard!
Mini Deathstroke was lousy though, sorry but the casting was seriously off for that one. Grant Wilson had none of the menace of his father.
But, speaking of menaces, brilliant episode for Dominic Purcell, who got to give us a Mick Rory at his most simple - smashing shit up, drinking and watching the city burn - and I like that they didn't have him simply stepping back into Snart's shadow after he'd knocked him out and physically removed him from the gang.
Of all the "legends" on the show, Leonard Snart is, for me, having the most interesting journey. He's never been a one note villain so to see him beginning to question just what he wants from life and his role in it has been absolutely fascinating so far and Wentworth Miller could read a phone book and captivate the audience so I'm loving his focus.
I liked the mix up in dynamics again with Ray and Kendra working together and the bumbling efforts of Stein on Jax's behalf just putting a spanner in the works but I was glad Kendra shot down any romance. I think this show is benefiting atm from there not being any romantic entanglements apart from Kendra/Carter's "epic" love story.
Although, having said that, I do keep getting tingly vibes from the interactions between Rip and Sara.
I also liked that they moved away from the "let's get Vandal Savage" to run a story line looking at potential futures if they don't return to their own timelines at the point they left back in 2016.
As the way time works in this show is so all over the place, I like that they could have multiple different options for the future all dependent on a myriad of different things happening or not happening.
Still missing the epic use of music they've had in earlier episodes so I'm giving it a 7.5.
