Rock bands with female lead singers.
hi guys, always been a big fan of Paramore, Evanescence & The Pretty Reckless.
Recently I've been trying to find more bands similar as I'm really getting into them! Heard We Are in the Crowd and they are okay, haven't really listened to all the songs properly yet. One band that I'm massively getting into now though is Tonight Alive, don't know if anyone else has heard of them, they are an Australian band. Who are your favourites? Any I need to listen to? |

You might like Zerospace by Kidneythieves.
There's also Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation, if that isn't too obvious. Comalies is a good Lacuna Coil album, listen to 'Swamped', and The Silent Force for Within Temptation. |

How about going back about 40 years? Vinegar Joe were pretty good with Elkie Brooks as the lead along with Robert Palmer!

I like Heartless Bastards. Pretty much straight-ahead rock, nothing fancy but Erika Wennerstrom has a great rock voice.

Another modern one (as opposed to some of the 60s /70s options given here..... As I presume you might like to see them in concert at some time) is PVRIS (pronounced Paris).

I recommend the relatively new group from Boston in the US, Speedy Ortiz.
They have two albums Major Arcana released in 2013 and their new album Foil Deer which was released in April of this year. The lead singer Sadie Dupuis is gorgeous with really unique style. Also, before launching the band she taught creative writing at a university and that really comes through in her great lyrics. |
