I love that time. You could see Ste's view of Brendan shifting massively and realising that things were starting to change.

After all that grown-up stuff In the Brendan era, it must be quite a comedown for Kieron to be reduced to the juvenile stuff he's currently involved in.

Yes Maybe he doesn't realise it (which is probably the better option for his own happiness), but wow...what a difference.

You'd think an HIV and drug plot would be very grown up, but somehow it hasn't been at all.

It was a beautiful time. I've been rewatching around that time (even the Eggy stuff ) so I can watch Dublin again this weekend. The build up (most of it) makes it even sweeter.


I do feel for him, especially when you consider he had the likes of Emmett and Bronagh to work with who really challenged him as an actor. Not to be mean about his current co stars but...

The Eggy stuff is actually really good Gotta love his Shakespeare talk too.

Kieron needs to be challenged. He seems to be influenced by whoever he is working closely with; hence he did all his best work when he was working closely with Emmett. He is apt to fall into bad habits when working closely with lesser actors.

Unfortunately yes. I think it's all a bit shallow. The story isn't there so the only thing Kieron has to work with at the moment is the supposed 'hotness' of Starry and that's about as deep as it goes.

After he sees them kissing he drops any attempts to be polite

"You're alright you know."

"Ta, I'll make sure they put that on my gravestone."

I've become a bit addicted to rewatching now. I just watched a bit of wheelchair!Brendan.

Remember when Brendan threw himself out of his chair so Ste would take him home and he could keep an eye on him?

Yes I love those episodes so much. It would have been fun to have seen more of Brendan living with Ste and Doug. We could have had secret late night chats and Ste sneaking down towards Brendan's room, tempted to go inside.

I didn't think of that, it would have been lovely. Someone write the fic.

Oh it's funny to come on here and see you talking about these episodes. I've literally just this minute watched the one where Brendan's staying at the slum and Doug is being vile to him and telling Ste to put some clothes on. It was three years ago today. And three years ago tomorrow is the one where Ste ties Brendan's laces and gets him a gun and lies to Doug from beginning to end.
