Morning I just rewatched the backstage video of Kimmett with the clothes competition. It made me miss them terribly Whoever decided on all the small touches is a genius.

Everything about it is perfect. Bearded kisses. Jam sandwiches. Moustached boxers. Kieron repeating the dialogue from the ILY scene. "Steven. Take off your boxers."

Maybe one day Ste will snap and punch him for it.

I'm fuming at some ex-Strictly dancer on This Morning saying he's not homophobic but having a same sex couple dancing on the show would be a joke. No dear, not homophobic at all.

And breathe.

Brendan is the sex.

ETA FUMING.

Ugh, which one is it?

That's like when people make homophobic comments, but they've got loads of gay friends, so they can't possibly be homophobic themselves.

I may be wrong, but I think what he meant was that they would be treated as, or seen as, the joke contestant, in the way that people like Anne Widdecombe, John Sargent, and Russell Grant were in their series. I suspect he may be right about that.

I don't know his name but he's left the show, and his girlfriend/wife is Ola.

His initial justification for objecting was because it's against the traditions of ballroom dancing. Phil pointed out that the Argentine tango was originally danced by men, and he said yeah but that's not a traditional ballroom dance (even though they've introduced it into Strictly.) As if Strictly would be recognisable to anyone who competed in ballroom dancing fifty years ago, or even twenty.

People opposing same sex marriage cited tradition among other things.

As for it being seen as a joke, he threw that in when his previous argument looked paper thin, and just dug a deeper hole for himself. He thought it would be a joke, because he couldn't see two men doing a sexy dance together. He's a homophobe.

Ola, Amanda and Phil all disagreed with him.

His name is James Jordan. He does like to be controversial and he's not a particularly nice man, so you may well be right about him. However, Strictly does like its 'joke' contestants, so I can just imagine what they might do with this. I suspect they would have them camping it up to the nines, rather than just treat them like any other contestant.

Just watching, for the umpteenth time, The Deer Hunter, on ITV4. In my opinion, this film is close to perfection, with quite possibly the best ever assembled cast. It has struck me, not for the first time (not that he has ever said it), that Christopher Walken must have been an influence on Emmett's acting style. He could have chosen a lot worse influences, mind.
Oh I agree, it's a brilliant film and Christopher Walken is one of my favourite actors.

Perhaps that's why we're drawn to Emmett.

Amanda Clapham, the actress who plays Holly, knows the actress who played Sue in ITF. That's kinda sorta maybe a Kimmett, right?

He's always been very opinionated.

I'm all for same sex dancing on the show. It would be awesome

Just been reading about Danniella Westbrook deciding not to return to Hollyoaks.

This bit made me laugh, "she landed a part on the hugely popular Hollyoaks".

ETA- Evening Ready.

It's all a bit strange. I was wondering the other day why she was taking so long to go back. I don't think she particularly would have added anything, as there are already so many gangster style storylines. I don't know what happened with her ex but it all sounds a bit scary, making her turn down work just so she won't have to see him.

*clutches at the tenuous Kimmett*

I might even watch if they had a same sex couple.

I'm just imagining them dancing together Kieron would be the professional as he has the Dancing On Ice experience. Embo could do a routine to Stupid Cupid (and Thong Song)

The Tango would be perfect.

ETA- I don't mean to Stupid Cupid. I like traditional Tango music.

They're Kimmett, so everything they do will naturally be filthy.
