In Eoin's version of the same pic, which is a wider shot, there's a vapour trail formation in the shape of a cross. If this had been the AD shoot it would have been hailed as a sign of God's approval of the project. In which case we can assume that God approves of Embo in boxers.

I wouldn't expect anything less. We know God approves of Stendan, so he clearly has good taste

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, I kind of hope he gets a role as a dancer or a distance runner, or something that requires a slim athletic build rather than bulk. Or even slim and not particularly athletic. The fact that he likes Arnold Schwarzenegger is a bit of a worry to me.

He doesn't seem to look too bulky in clothes though. He's had this body for some time now but he doesn't have that no-neck thing that some men get when they work out, so characters like Simon, Glen, Rory and Andrew haven't looked particularly hulkish. Even the lovely doomed Delmos, who is one character who a muscular look would be appropriate for, didn't look overly big.

We all have our own types. I understand because I'm not a fan of the six pack look. I love that Emmett has a defined body without that, but we all have our preferences

I think it helps that he's furry so he doesn't have that plastic look that's been the fashion for far too long (HO, Towie etc. Tacky in other words...)

I hope you're wrong. I don't see the need for everyone to look the same. Brendan and Emmett were such a big hit because they were different. I like different.

Emmett was gloriously different from all the stereotypical Hollyoaks hunks when he first hit our screens as Brendan, He had a chest full of unfashionably beautiful fuzzy hair that escaped from his unbuttoned shirt; he was slim, athletic, wiry - strong looking without being 'stacked'. And the moustache, of course, that became a legend all on its own, and helped launch Movember (well, that's what I choose to believe!). I loved that he looked completely unlike the guys that we were supposed to find sexy, but was so much hotter than any of them precisely because he didn't look like them - and had actual character, not just a waxed chest and a six-pack

I think that if Brendan had appeared now, with the body shape Emmett has now (and lack of chest hair ) I'd have dismissed him as another would-be z-lister more concerned with his impressing people with his physical appearance than with his acting skills (and the industry is overfull with those actors already). And it would have been such a shame if that had happened, and I'd never witnessed how amazing an actor he was, and how fantastic a character Brendan was.

I do personally find it a bit disappointing that Emmett has morphed into a completely different person nowadays (still a lovely guy, just very different from Emmett circa 2010/2011). All the things I found interesting about him back then seem to have disappeared. Apart from his acting skills, of course ... I just wish we got to see more of them on screen over here in the UK!

Yes, that's pretty much how I feel, Bluebird. Emmett is a fantastically gifted and charismatic actor and I want to see more of the depth, the quirkiness, the passion, and the humour that he can bring to a role. I still fear that the more he bulks up, the more he is likely to get action-hero type roles, which hold no appeal for me. I hope he proves me wrong.

With regard to Keiron, I don't think he will ever turn into the six-pack type, nor do I think he should. Although I am not particularly a fan, he also has a look that is a bit different and that suits him. He shouldn't change it to become more like everyone else.

I can understand people getting excited, for instance, at the idea of a muscled Emmett in green undercrackers and a cape as The Spectre or somesuch. If you're into that gym-bodied, dime-a-dozen look ( I just find it boring).

But I'd rather see him in a role that stirs my soul, not just my lady-bits, and is still capable of stirring emotions every time I think about it for months (and years) afterwards. Like he did with Brendan (and Simon too, although to a lesser degree).

I've always thought that Emmett's acting shines through and overshadows everything else, no matter what his body looks like. And ultimately he should be able to look like however he wants to. It's his body.
