And Alan got beaten by another commentator in Terry Griffiths
I never realised that.

Some of the names Alan played with back then hark back to the 70s and earlier. Amazing that he's still so competitive all these years later. It's a really nice story. So happy for him.

Another spellbinding session, bit tough on McManus to lose it 5-3. But I'll say it again, for Ding, after having had a compete nightmare of a time on the table, dropping out of the top 16, confidence being totally and utterly shot.....to get within three frames of a world final is a truly remarkable achievement. Every credit to the lad.

So guys you have been having quiz questions throught the championship and the questions i have posted were

Who is the youngest player to win a match at the Crucible and the answer was Stephen Hendry

And, Who is the only player to win a tournament by not making a fifty break and the answer was Perrie Mans

So he is Question three

Which is the only World Championship final at the Crucible, that did not feature a century break been made

I'm not sure what Selby's problem is. He seems miles away and has been throughout the match.

2 different Mark Selby's in the first 2 frames

Tense first frame which took ages followed by a free flowing near-enough total clearance

Watched a few old matches on YouTube this morning. Fred Davis making a century aged 65, in the 1979 Worlds against Kirk Stevens. Both the ref and Kirk applauded when he got the 100 up. Mind you there were only 13 tons made the whole tournament and Terry Griffiths made 4 of those.

The pockets certainly did not look like ones pinched from a pool table in them days.

Strange choice of shot from Selby after all that safety play

Two very different semi finals here. Marco Fu v Mark Selby is much more tense, and becuase both players are missing chances, it's not being won all the time in one visit. And there has been some excellent safety play.

Alan McManus v Ding Junhui has been in the main a break building masterclass, with both players showing some excellent building (some of the ones that weren't even centuries were impressive clearances often due to the balls lying awkward).

So something for everyone here. Just a note though: if Fu v Selby don't start their final frame of the session before 1.45pm they'll get pulled off early. That in itself might work to Ding / McManus' advantage as potentially that's more table time for the final session of Fu v Selby later...

Two awful misses on the green cost Marco the chance to take the lead. It really is a struggle out there.

TC, here's one to get your brain ticking

Has a player ever won a semi final at the Crucible without ever leading until the final frame has been played.

Think there may be a chance with this game

Terrible session of snooker considering this is a world championship semi final... Don't know how both players have made a century each this morning!

At least it's close though... Could be a real cracker this evening!

Too right

Highly unlikely is my guess

Two stellar frames from Marco, much more like it 👍🏻
