That last frame lasted over an hour but it was for me the best of the tournament. It had everything and certainly not short of drama!
Selby through to a third world final. Will he become a multiple world champion or can Ding win his first? So hard to call... |

He's definitely not himself is he ? I do feel for Mark Selby because he is the target of the boo boys. Lots on Twitter calling hell out of him already. In my eyes he's a great player. Not flash no, but a great player

Simple answer, no - but it's very rare for a ref not to call a miss nowadays - it'd have to be a very fiendish snooker with not many viable escape options 👍🏻

Selby will be knackered tomorrow and will really have to up his game to be competitive.
I agree about those who have said they have really enjoyed Ebdon's commentary - he does not drone on endlessly like Taylor does and call every single player 'the nicest person you could ever meet'. And there should be a record of how many bloody times Virgo says 'where's the white going?' I want Mark to win but Ding is the favourite. |

Looking forward to the Final. Too close to call, and I would be happy whoever wins. Quote:

I agree with you. Selby seems to get a hard time from certain quarters, but all I see is a very gifted player who is a credit to the game. It's a mystery (to me) why he gets so much strife.

And this final is why, that after Ronnie being in the game for more then 20 years, snooker is "still" looking for the next Ronnie. Im not saying the snooker wont be good, but the game needs charisma and personality to thrive.........and this final wont have it.

Selby did look knackered last night so hopefully he'll have something to offer in the final. He will have step it up against ding. Selby is not the most exciting player but he's good at what he does. Not really sure why he's called the jester though. Maybe mr granite would be more accurate.

For all people talk about having 'T20 snooker' and moving to another venue, very few events in any sport can match The Crucible for just over two weeks a year. We've had two fantastic semis and I'm not sure how because I keep reading it's a one-man sport. I did fall out of love a bit with the game when Hendry went into steep decline and then retired but snooker moves on and the depth is greater than ever before. Some of the safety shots in that Selby-Fu game will live long in the memory and for Selby to be a 'bore', I thought he did a rather good job of easing the tension at certain moments of the game. Long live this wonderful tournament at one of sport's most atmospheric venues.

Which tells you everything you need to know about him. I think he's fantastic and hope he wins the final but I can't help but think that Ding winning has got a sort of 'written in the stars' feeling about it after his crap season and having to pre qualify. |

I find it odd that people apparently call Selby a bore... He seems to me, albeit I don't watch the sport regularly throughout the year, as having a bit of personality and occasionally chipping in with a comment to lift the tension.... There certainly look to be plenty of less charismatic players in the top 16
