The commentators of the past never used to talk a lot. I remember one match where i did not hear anyone talk for about twenty minutes. Well it was between Terry Griffiths and Cliff Thorburn, so there were probably asleep at the time
It's almost constant chit-chat now. Taylor is particularly unbearable.

Indeed I think someone needs to have a word and remind them they don't have to talk constantly. Constant comments like "It's an amazing come back" etc etc. Yes, we can see the score line Dennis.

I wish we could go back to the old style of commentary but I can't see it happening. I think the BBC encouraged the commentators to become more 'chatty' about 15 years ago and the introduction of ear pieces made matters worse. The likes of Clive Everton and Ray Edmonds obviously didn't fit in with their vision so they were shown the door...

I used to like Dennis but he has become particularly grating over the past couple of years. JV is ok when with JP or Kenny. Dave Hendon on Eurosport is very good.

Such a canny matchplayer is Mark - threw Ding off his rhythm with that 40 minute snooker hunt, now has quickened his pace up to kill off the final two with minimum fuss. He'd certainly have settled for a 10-7 lead overnight before play started today.

Edit: despite that kick I doubt he'll lose the frame, think Ding has had enough for one night.

Taylor seems to think he's commentating for radio.

Ding needs a good nights sleep now and given he's the younger player he should have more stamina. Perhaps he's on Chinese time
Come in ding wake up

Yep as Dave Hendon said, Selby was the real winner of that frame.

If Ding would've potted that red to effectively stop Selby coming back to the table, he could have easily been 9-8 in front by now.

Bizarre pricing for next year's event, all rounds before the final the afternoon session is £5 more expensive than the morning, then the evening is £5 more expensive than the afternoon.

I think David Hendon and Joe Johnson are much better than Dennis.

And some people on here where suggesting he stop trying on that frame. Selby knows what he is doing. Might not be the flashiest or most attractive player to watch but he's certainly one of the canniest and smartest

Selby should be arrested for murdering snooker.
