As mentioned by others your argument is contradicted by the fact Selby is 5th highest for centuries. And is ahead of Murphy.
What you could perhaps take from Murphy's comments is that Selby deserves great credit for how hard he has worked on his game. To the point where he is now one of the great break builders.

Yes he is. On CueTracker Ding is 6th highest for centuries. Also I noticed that Marco Fu is 7th. So despite the shock exits, 3 of the 7 highest century makers were in the semi-finals.
