Final very similar to the semi in some respects... Selby always just ahead of his rival until the finish line.

So within 15 minutes Leicester City won the Premier League and Mark Selby, from Leicester, won the snooker Championship.

What a night for the city! Congratulations to both.

Congratulations to Mark Selby, a multiple world champion takes him on to a higher echelon. Commiserations Ding played so well throughout the tournament, ultimately the poor first session cost him.

Shame The Grinder nickname is taken as Selby showed how to win a match there.

Well done Mark Selby! Multiple world champion and he could still win a few more too. The best all round player in the game now!

Credit to Ding. Great tournament for him and great to see him back at his best again.

Fantastic - well done Mark. Managed to win when often no where near his best. That is what all great champions do. Brilliant.

Well done Mark Selby. A true elite player now. It just shows also how significant that 4-0 first mini session proved to be. He in a sense consolidated that initial lead throughout. Also well done to Ding Junhui. Hopefully he goes to even greater things in the future. Great final.

I agree.

Anyway what night for Leicester!

Selby now joins the greats in my book - such is the standard of competition to win the world title more than once is this era is very special.

Mark looks a bit down to me. But he's always been a bit difficult to read.

He's just surely drained of all energy and emotion.

Mark is quite tall isn't he? He's taller than Davis.

I expect Selby is relieved, knackered, glad it's over and mentally drained.
