Very well done to Liang. Fully deserved. Loved his celebration at the end. Hopefully he can kick on from here and really show his talent.

Congrats to Liang. Well deserved win.

I finally get to watch a final live thanks to QUEST. I am not near Eurosport at weekends generally, so it was nice to be able to watch the whole final live on Freeview. Whoever made the decision to allow QUEST to share the tournament with ES made a good decision (for me anyway) Hope there are more.

I know. When Liang shouted after sinking the brown i thought 'oh no hes too exited and will make a hash of the blue and blow it now' but he didnt - im very impressed with his potting - amazed how may times he knocked in an early long red and got on the black off it. That is a sign of a top class player.

International championship starts in the morning. Wonder if Judd can make another final. Not sure how much of the tournament I'll see. Might have to catch highlights.

Good wins for Kurt Maflin over Matt Selt who'd just won the minor Haining Open hence was in good form, and Sam Baird over Michael White again, like he did at the Crucible....

People always seem to disagree with the inclusion of wildcards in these events (myself included). But I guess they are justifying their inclusion in the event so far... all three that have played so far have all won 6-3!

Got to feel for Mitchell Mann there he must be as sick as a pig. Great comeback by Ding of course tonwin from four down with five to play but Mitchell really should have closed the game out, particularly in the penultimate frame when he was on for the maximum.

Here's a question? What do you think of Judds hairstyle? Doesn't it look a bit odd?

I am pretty sure he's using 'spray on' hair lol!

Your thoughts...

Well, there'll always be a Trump with a worse hairstyle...

How come Ronnie is suddenly playing in everything again?

Xaio (whatever his name was) lost the match to Ronnie on a foul on a respotted black

I think his worlds defeat against the Hawk hit him quite hard, a lack of competitive play particularly in the safety department catching up with him. Hence to remedy that he's playing in far more events this season. So far he's won a grand total of zero

Slight aside but the World Billiards Championships are on their You Tube channel apparently. Clive Everton doing the commentary

A lot happening in the last 16's today - Holty dumps the Rocket out of a ranker for the third time this calendar year!

Ding through 6-5 on the colours aginast Walden who recovered from 2-5 with a couple of tons on the way.

Remarkable achievement to beat Ronnie once in a ranking event but three times in one year ? wow.

Certainly is.

Wonder if he can follow it up with another win in the next round though. He's been dumped out immediately after beating Ronnie in the two events so far.

Quite some going by Ding today, having gone 2-0 down despite a break of 70 in the second frame he wins six on the spin to defeat Higgins 6-2.

So dominant was his display after the interval he reduced his opponent to a mere 32 points in four frames.

This might be one of the best deciding frames in a very long time between smurf and juddernaut

Shame when somebody has to lose a game like that.
No doubt one of the matches of the season.

Yep, an extremely tense 45 minute decider sees Judd defeat Smurf on the final black. Remarkable stuff - the match had all the ingredients of a classic, mega heavy scoring (3 tons by Trump), a comeback (Murphy led 5-3), and then a nailbiting decider.
