Shocked about Higgins going out with the way he's been playing. Tournament wide open now.

Nice to See Anthony Hamilton coming good again after all these years.
Also nice to see 'motormouth' Allen out too, I bet Mark Joyce will be having a beer to celebrate... |

Yeah always good to see the veterans going well. First ranking semi since 2009 for Hamilton.
I wonder if O'Sullivan will hand him a few quid next time Hamilton is skint! |

Anthony has now won more this season than the last two combined. No wonder he was skint.

Gutted for the Sheriff having played so well to get back to 5-5 then feathering the white in the decider pretty much costing him the match

yeah gutted for him. If not for that he could have finally won a trophy.
Not overly keen on Mark King but I would not begrudge him a trophy against Hawkins. |

That was a heartbreaking way to hand the table back to Hawkins in the decider. Hope he can somehow forget about it and keep playing well in the coming weeks.
I'd like KIng to get his maiden ranking tournament. But Hawkins will make a worthy winner, so a nice final to watch.

I'm in the Bazza camp for the final, not too keen on King I'm afraid.
Gutted for Hamilton but I'm sure he will put the £20K to good use. |

5-3 then to the Hawk but decent resilience from King taking the last two of the afternoon to keep the final alive. Still gotta strongly fancy Barry to win his third major though.

Incredible turn around in the final tonight. Barry Hawkins was 5-1 up but Mark King has played some excellent snooker (possibly his best ever) to lead 7-5 at the final interval!

Yes the only other time I can recall King playing so well was the way he played the last session in beating Mark Allen 10-8 in the 2013 Worlds. Whether his nerve holds as the winnning line draws near will be fascinating to watch though.

Must admit I didn't hold out a lot of hope for this being much of a final, but how wrong I was. 7-7 and very difficult to call the winner!

Anyone's title now best of 3. I agree too, been a very intriguing final. Very refreshing in fact.
We've been treated to a lot of great finals recently but this feels new and like something different. |

This whole Home Nations series had the potential to be a bit of a letdown but it has been far from it. The English Open was excellent and this event has surpassed it.

Congratulations Mark King - a tournament winner at the 319th attempt!!
Such an unpredictable incredible final that you still couldn't be certain he would prevail even at the two snookers required stage! |

Terrific determined stuff there from Mark King. What odds was he to win it? He fully does deserve it at the age of 42. Well done to Mark King, he showed real bottle out there, I thought he would lose. He said his Dad paid for him to come to the tournament. He admitted his gambling problems and he's turned it around.
