Is there another tournament in December?
Yeah the Scottish Open, 12th-18th on Eurosport and Quest.

I think this is a good discussion.

For me an issue is where is the young upcoming talent? The last player I can remember joining the top group of players is Judd Trump.
Kyren Wilson's broken into the top 16 recently, could do with a few more though

Century 851 for Ronnie. Just when you think he's down and out

It's amazing that he can still play at this pace. You can tell his natural game just kicks in and he's on auto pilot.

Three centuries in the last three frames - quality snooker all round this.

This might yet have 10-9 written all over it...

it's like he doesn't think, just pots, it's amazing when he plays like this just the way he goes about it.

I'm at the crucible for a quarter final session next year (10am) ... how long do they last? I'm trying to work out my travel arrangements in advance. Looked on the ticket but it's not clear.
Normally at the latest you'd be out before 2pm, as the afternoon session starts at 2.30pm and there's a turnaround. I normally book a train around 2.30pm ish, or an hour later if you're going to do lunch after the session.

If the session finishes early you can always head to Winter Gardens to see Hazel and the team

The general rule is that the final frame of a session can start no later than 1.45pm, so sometimes if it gets to around 1.50pm the ref will indicate to both players if half way through a frame that this is the last one.

Hope that helps.

Even if he doesn't win I've been so impressed with ROS tonight- you can see the determination written all over his face.

That's perfect. Thank you so much for that. Really looking forward to the trip and seeing Snooker in person for the first time after a couple decades of TV viewing. Can't wait.

This reminds me of another final. Was it Selby? Possibly. The lead never went lower than 2 frames. May have even been Ronnie too.

Been an incredible standard tonight. At the business end of a major final makes it even more incredible. The safety has been excellent too.

Best all round Snooker player based on ability.. Ronnie all day every day for me.

However no doubt about Selby being the best in the world currently and the one to beat moving forward.

Congrats Mark Selby. First player in 15 years to hold World and UK Championship in the same year. Undoubtedly the best player in the world.
