I don't like Hearn's attitude but I agree that Round 1 losers should not get paid. I also like that most tournaments now are almost completely random which means World number 80 plays number 109 for example in round 1 whilst number 115 will play number 1 which would be unlucky but that's the luck of the draw.

I've really enjoyed the home nations and its great to see the likes of Wenbo and King winning these titles.

^ Three wins and nine frames without reply as Jimmy whitewashes David John to reach the last 64 👏🏻👏🏻
??????

He won 4-0 and this is his opening match, where are you getting "three wins and nine frames without reply" from? Im confused

EDIT - ah, you are talking about his results last week as well. Cant imagine him whitewashing Ryan Day (his likely opponent) in the next round, mind.
The lengths Bradders will go to eh ? Getting DS closed down for 72 hours in the hope we would forget this

Barry Hearn getting his knickers in a twist tonight on Twitter. He has told Neil Robertson to read his players contract after Robbo publicly criticised the tables. He's also said John Higgin's comments are in breach of his contract.

Nobody is bigger than the game and that also relates to Hearn. He talks about players publicly criticising the tables and cloths etc yet he does it in the most public of ways, on social media. I hope enough of the big name players stand up together to him.

Seen a couple of Ronnie's chat's in the studio after a couple of his wins on Wednesday and Thursday and aside from scratching, picking his ear and moving around every few seconds he comes across great. Comes out with some bizarre stuff occasionally and has a funny way of explaining what he means sometimes but I find him refreshing and a good alternative to a lot of the usual studio guys.

On the other hand, as much as I like Jimmy I feel like he adds very little in the studio. Hopefully he get's better in time but you can second guess what he's going to say virtually all the time.

Higgins - Trump should be a good match tomorrow. That side of the draw has been pretty tough.

Can't believe that straight missed black off it's spot for Yu Delu tonight to win 5-3 after needing two snooker's in the eighth. Decider now and if he doesn't win it it will take a long long time to get over that.

Won all five of his matches this week in deciding frames... The new Selby?

Will find it tough against Fu I feel though. Marco playing so well this week.

What a matchplayer Higgins is. Think Judd has only potted one ball since my last post!

At 5-1 Trump looked certain to beat Higgins for the first time in a match that contains at interval, but 5-5 it is now....

Edit: sorry forgot the English Open. First time beyond a Best of 9 then 😛

Absolute classic. You would have to favour Higgins to seal the deal with way he been playing last 4 frames

I'd say Higgins best match for a very long time even though he's won 2 tournaments. From 5:1 he was awesome.

Yes there are comebacks and comebacks aren't there? The way Trump was playing to race into a 5-1 lead there looked absolutely no way back. And even after then it's not as if Judd imploded, Higgins just played pretty much flawless snooker. Real contender for match of the season.

Excellent match and a great comeback from John Higgins. Hard to believe he hasn't won a ranking event since October 2015.

I think final will be fu v Higgins and then it could go either way although yu delu has done fantastically well to get to the semis so he might provide a shock but the way fu has played lately I'd still say he'll win.

Wonder if anyone has knocked in as many match winning breaks as John Higgins has done in deciding frames. He's done it so many times, an amazing match player with an unbelievable amount of bottle.

Two tons and an 87 by Marco in the second half of the match, emphatic stuff.

10 centuries this week for Marco in just 34 frames played.

He reached the semi finals of the UK of course but wasn't showing anywhere near this good a breakbuilding ability!

Should be a good final tomorrow.

Really hope they both play at their best. Obviously John will be favourite but I wouldn't right off fu. Can beat anyone on his day.
