Unbelievable snooker from John. Surely he can't continue like this, can he?

Every time you think the standard has reached a peak and can't possibly get any better it seems to do so!

Excellent start from Higgins. Players playing tournaments on a regular basis has certainly helped match sharpness.

You'd think after the heavy schedule since November the players would be a little fatigued and have one eye on the xmas break. Not a bit of it!

Were there not still 5 reds left on the table when Higgins missed there?

If so I'm a little surprised Fu didn't come back to the table.

Yeah I was a bit surprised but maybe he doesn't think he needs the practice, just needs John to miss.

What a match and there will be some people who won't be watching because they will think its boring today with no Ronnie or Judd. How wrong they are. Stunning game.

It's intriguing isn't it. Almost the perfect match. You had the incredible scoring and breakbuilding early on from both players. Now you have much tighter, but important frames. You can feel the tension growing frame by frame.

What a great way to end the snooker year.

Can't believe Marco come out of that 4:4. John will not be happy with that. Tonight will be very interesting.

What a turnaround. And just think this all happened because the ref spoke to John when John was clearing up and then missed on 78.

‪Fair play to Marco, that black was just a little bit smelly and he wouldn't have been feeling great after missing the frame ball red. 7-4.

Could have been the huge turning point in the match but you feel it's going to be the killer blow to Higgins in the end.

I've really enjoyed this match but missed this. What happened?

Well done Marco, pleased he won.

Brilliant from Fu. 38 years old and wins his third ranking title. Definitely should have won more by now. Best player this week and so deserved to win.

What a year for snooker it has been. Some memorable matches, great finals, new tournaments and new champions etc... Can't wait for 2017 and the Masters!

Well done Marco Fu, a player you can never write off.
Never expected him to win when John was 4-2 up.

I agree. It's been a great year and season (so far) Pretty much constant tournaments. Gone are the days when we only got the Worlds, UK, Masters and the Grand Prix (if we were lucky) I am loving the almost weekly continuous coverage.

Well done Fu. What a great performance and a nice guy he is. Nice words from both players at the end.

Very well done to Marco. Would have never thought in a million years that he'd win 9:4 after the way John started but fair play to him. If he can take that form into next year then there might be more success on the way.

Change the record.

Amazing performance from Marco yesterday and an incredible feat to win eight straight frames against one of the two best players in the World at the moment. Whilst I think it's inevitable that Higgins will eventually go ahead of Davis on the number of ranking title won, glad that he didn't do it yesterday.

What are you on about ? It is absolutely true that some people wont have watched it. Just look at a selection of snooker groups on Facebook etc to see that. I wish they would watch it because they missed a very good match. I had to leave a Facebook group because you would have thought John Higgins had shot and killed Ronnie they way they were slaughtering him for beating their idol. If you cannot see that then don't have a go at me for it.

Speaking of Ronnie, really liking him as a pundit, he is very good indeed. Jimmy, not so sure on but the Rocket does a cracking job
