I see former World Semi Finalist Andy Hicks fell at a late hurdle today and Marcus Campbell was also in Q school. Are they the two most famous players trying to get on the tour ?

In Q school 2 Heather Clare lost 4-0 to Louis Heathcote but Reanne Evans beat Rune Kampe 4-3, Ryan Causton up next for her tomorrow.

Ryan Causton beat Reanne Evans 4-2, it was 3-0 so she staged a mini fight back but had to much to do

If any thread regulars or fellow snooker fans are up, this is showing Snooker Legends until the wee hours of the morning.

Jason Weston, Gareth Allen, Duane Jones & Paul Davison (barring many snookers) all won two-year tour cards through Q School this morning.

article about the qualifiers here at Inside-Snooker:

http://www.inside-snooker.com/snooke...ving-the-stage

EDIT: actually, having read the article myself, its more about Dave Harold & Marcus Campbell losing their pro status than the 8 players who are about to start their two-year tour card...

I've just had Bono on the phone asking me to sing on a charity record for you

You've got some good friends there bud. Nice touch
It did put a smile back on my face.

I had to turn that Snooker Legends stream off, I was getting hooked on it.

They had a nice tribute to Alex Higgins earlier.

I'm sure this has been psoted before by now but you'll have to excuse me for any re-posting. Because I have just seen it today and it is hilarious. Jimmy White's trying out a new career.

Boy's a natural. Why has no-one thought of using him this way before?!!!!

Anyone know if the Yixing Open in China from June 9th is gonna be televised? My snooker withdrawal simptoms are bad already
What has happened to this event? I checked on the world snooker website and it's gone! We have the qualifyers for the Australian til this Friday then there's nothing til the 15th when the World Cup starts in Wuxi - so what gives? I mean if it's cancelled then why?

Liam Highfield announced on his Twitter that he has been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.

Shame to hear that, hope it doesn't affect his snooker as he is a very talented young player.

Just looking at the last 32 draw of the Australian Goldfields Open now the qualifiers have ended. I see some big names missing still. No Ronnie, Ding or The Hawk taking part so the likes of Michael White, Xiao Guodong and Mark Davis getting top 16 rankings for the event.

One name to watch out for is Hossein Vafaei Ayouri from Iran. Came through the qualifiers well. Be interesting to see how he handles a big event.

He is a top 16 player so in the current snooker world he is a big name.

He's a top 8 player who has performed brilliantly in the World's biggest tournament in recent years so I agree with you, he is one of the games 'big' players.

Not that it matters either way of course, its just a matter of people's opinion. It doesn't change anything whether he's a 'big' player or not.

Sadly it is quite common in men of a certain age

However it is very treatable and the vast majority of people with prostate cancer die with it not because of it.

I wish him well.
