Puts him in the Masters too at White's expense, no wonder he was leaping about! But he is getting pelters for his handshake on Twitter I see. Didn't really note the handshake personally so can't really comment
The UK has always been higher up the ladder of importance than the Masters.

Yow gain 0 ranking points at the Masters after all.

I just doesn`t feel like 2nd biggest tournament anymore for me because of the frame reduction. I remember the interveiw hearn gave a few years ago explaining reason for it saying fans wanted less sessions and if they demand it then he`ll make it happen. i was concerned that the same would happen to worlds and him saying there are no plans but would consider it if fans again demanded it. that format should never be touched, i don`t care how many fans want a change. it they don`t like it then tough.
But Hearn has said he will not alter the worlds and he hasn’t.

Hearn will never have all 128 players at the Crucible and trying to finish it all within 17 days, or reduce the duration of the event to 14 days or less.

I can’t ever see the American 9 ball style ball in hand or the shot clock introduced in ranking events either.

Been a good opening session in the final. Liang made a century to get back to 2-1 and Robertson followed with his own century to go 3-1 ahead!

BBC shot of the tournament nominees just shown, they've decided to add the missed black by Thepchaiya Un-Nooh for the 147... talk about adding insult to injury

I was just about to post that.

I suspect he may win it for his other nominated shot but including the black is just rubbing it in.

Has a max ever been done in any of the major finals? Masters/UK/World?

Not any in majors I can think of. Ken Doherty missed the black in the final of the Masters.

Only 147 I remember in a final was Stephen Hendry in the Liverpool Victoria Challenge Trophy. It was in the deciding frame as well, he won 9-8 after having led 8-2.

Getting ready for the bingo later.

"Couldn't meet a nicer player"
"What a session we're in for here"
"The best quality snooker the Barbican has ever seen"

(the last one might be pushing it)

Worlds, definitely not. Stephen Hendry v Jimmy White (1995 semi final) is the only maximum in a one table setup at the Crucible.

UK, obviously Neil Robertson today which makes him the first ever! Previous to that Ronnie O'Sullivan (2007) and Mark Selby (2013) had made maxes in the semifinals.

Only 3 maxes ever at Masters too: Kirk Stevens (1984, semi-final), Ding Junhui (2007, wildcard round) and Marco Fu (2015, first round)

In ranking events, I seem to recall Ronnie O'Sullivan maxing a maximum in the final frame to win the Welsh Open last year too

The commentators need to stop making these glib remarks, as the audience react and the players don't know what's going on.

Really good to see a competitive final. Glad Liang isn't being steamrolled here.
