I noticed a couple of small things when watching it. During one frame the score was 119-0 and there were two reds still on the table. Possible but very unlikely.

Also Alex's house had a Sky minidish on the wall yet the scene was set years before such a thing existed.

I quite enjoyed it though.

Had a quick peek for a few seconds. Seen Jimmy miss a tap in finish. Looked completely away with the fairies right enough.

Just watched The Rack Pack - 6 out of 10 for me

You can forgive the inaccuracies like Dennis wearing goggles before he wore goggles, one table set up in the Crucible for a second round match and even him and his then girlfriend dancing to an Ian Dury song in a disco a couple of years before it had been released. But the story was a bit far fetched for me. Made Barry Hearn look like a Saint and Higgins look like an absolute monster and a very sad man. I know it was a work of fiction, and I know Alex was far from an angel but this made him look desperate and, I thought anyway, it made it look like Davis/Hearn/Matchroom was the thing that broke him, which isn't the case.

That aside, some great performances and the odd little cameo too I do believe. Was that Eiryan Williams as the ref in the challenge match near the start ? And I am sure the unseen MC at The Crucible was Phil Yates.

Will have to check that again about the cameos, Darren

And of course John Sessions as Ted Lowe

The first challenge match at the Lucania between Higgins and Davis? Dont think that was Williams as the ref, unless he was wearing a wig?

Not sure about the Yatesy one, didn't sound like him to me much the first time but it did the second time he spoke!

Edit: had a closer look, reckon that is Eiran now in a syrup!

Just read that legendary coach Frank Callan died today. Sad news. Must have been over ninety, mind.

It was enjoyable so far as there are not many Snooker related programmes. The Higgins story section was over the top but as it was a comedy drama it is bound to be overly exaggerated. I bet Barry Hearn loved watching it, if his ego needed boosting any further the Rat Pack would have done it! I am however slightly surprised that it is IPlayer only, it was good enough for either BBC2 or BBC4 broadcast.

Really struggling to get into the seniors event

Great play by the Milkman to wrap up his match inside a quarter of an hour against Drago with a couple of 80's...but in a way it exemplifies all that's wrong with the Seniors these days....

I dont think the Seniors take this event setiously

The age limit for the seniors definitely needs raising to 50 and over. As it is Ronnie will probably be able to play in it soon which would be ridiculous.

The Rory McLeod v Fergal O'Brien match is painful. Seen better games at Monica Billiard Hall down Newland Ave.

As soon as I saw the running order for tonight I groaned - was hoping this would be on last and Jimmy third.

Pity, as Fergal played some great stuff last year to reach the final.

Poor Gary Lees. That snooker he was in was almost impossible to get out of. That's where the miss rule can spoil the game. The referee should have had the ability to just call it a foul as there was no way that Gary could be accused of not trying his best

Yeah I felt sorry for Gary Lees too. Willie Thorne kept saying that the way he was going wasn't on but what other option did he have? The twice across shot could have been used the final time to guarantee not leaving a free ball but I think by then, Gary was just so gutted about the way he lost the match he didn't think about it too much.

To be honest though, that was the only matched I watched today... and that was only because I had nothing else to do. Such a shame that this event has gone the way it has. The players we want to see playing are not going to qualify playing against current pro's.

Hardly any of them tried. Only Tony Knowles and Gary Wilkinson. No Dennis, no Nugget, no Grinder. Shame. An event they've ruined for me

8 automatic qualifiers ( all former world or senior champions) and the other 8 came through qualifying
