That was great to see (thanks for the link) and well done Fergal!
His reaction was indeed fabulous to see. He was just so chuffed. Cheshire cat grin. ![]() Just before the black he wiped the cloth and it looked like he was going to knock the cue ball away with his hand. Also love the chairs that made it look like he was going to stoke the fire and sip his brandy. Quote:
D'you know what, I thought exactly the same thing. Doesn't bear thinking about 😬

I was waiting for him to ask "what's the high break prize worth again ?"
![]() A 147 for the humble nice guy Fergal: Priceless. ![]() Also I noticed the predictable comments about it being slow but I was thinking that in some ways that makes it harder. The tension must build much more when you are being so methodical about every shot. He did seem to maybe speed up a little for the last few colours and I think that probably helped him over the line. It's funny with all the constant talk of players being fast that in this type of situation doing a slower 147 is arguably harder. I was getting twitchy at times for him even though I knew from the title and TC's original post that he got it. ![]()

I know many on here like him but, Phil Yates constant chatting, reeling off of stats and facts is really spoiling my enjoyment of the snooker on Eurosport

Bingham out of the Gydnia Open means we won't see the world champ at the Grand Prix in Llandudno in just over a week.
Just two semi-finals of note this season for Stuart, in Shanghai and at the Masters - other than that it's been a nightmare campaign. |

Martin Gould hoping for his second title of the season. He will play Mark Selby in the final tonight. Great match to watch his semi win over Kyren Wilson. Charles Hawtry is now in the PTC Finals which will help his ranking. He could be a top 10 player before the year is out

Quite fitting I guess that the most successful PTC player should win the final one. Well played Mark Selby.

Yep, there will still be the Paul Hunter Classic, Riga Open & the Gibraltar Open, a new full European ranker (in Romania I think) & the launch of the 'Home Series' ie an English, Irish and Scottish Open to join the Welsh.
https://newfanzone.wordpress.com/201...2016-calendar/ Wonder if there won't be another Players Championship finals too then? |

So them three events are no longer going to be Euro Tour events? Will they still be ranking events? minor-ranking events?
Wonder if there won't be another Players Championship finals too then? I read the home series will be best of 7's early rounds at least (which sounds a bit minor ranking), but then the Welsh is already that format, and if the Welsh is deemed a major, then the Irish etc will have to be too. |

The way I interpret it is if there's no PTC's there can't be a Players Championship finals, and all the above will all contribute to the money list / rankings. The new European Championship will be classed as a major like the German Mastes, whereas the Riga etc will be classed as minors.

Congratulations to Judd Trump for winning the 2016 Championship League, ending Ronnie's 24 game unbeaten streak in the process.

I thought Ronnie was ducking out of all the ranking events before Sheffield? Thats certainly the impression he gave after his Welsh Open win.

Looking at the latest projected rankings list, it's getting pretty tight for that top 16 cut off for the World Championship:
http://www.prosnookerblog.com/rankin...ed-seedings-2/ In fact only £151 separates 16th from 17th (Wenbo and Maguire) and notably also, Ding Junhui down in 19th. I suspect every match in the World Grand Prix, Players Championship Finals and China Open really is going to matter hugely. Even a good run in the two tournaments he's eligible for for Matt Selt could see him snatch a top 16 slot. Very much all to play for. And I'd second that ITV4's coverage is pretty good these days - we get Uncle Clive, Neal Foulds and Alan McManus, so can't argue with that for a decent commentary team all round. BBC - take note. Now if only ITV4 could get rid of that MC that they have and try to get Rob Walker involved... |
