Matt misses a nasty cut into the yellow pocket and let's Neil in but he can only take the red and a blue but has to play safety off the yellow 29-51

Even if he gets blue and pink the black is on baulk cushion in very difficult position

Neil slips and Matt nails a half chance on blue leaving Neil needing a snooker. Neil Carly's on but surely it's hopeless now - in fact he leaves the pink and it over. Well done Matt but Neil must be gutted.

Think Matt should be nicknamed the Alka Selt-zer after that stomach churner!

Without checking all his results, that must be the best win for Ali Carter since his return, defeating Murphy in a decider....

Just seen Jones' wonder clearance to lead 3-0, some effort that and evidently key in the final reckoning.....

The big guns are going down like flys - Robertson, Murphy and Selby gone already.

Ali C had a face like thunder down under after losing that decider! Little wonder, as the fluked snooker on the green done for him.

Michael White looked dangerous all through that game. I thought experience was gonna win out but nope .... Ali can pot some really tough ones but then loses it on easy shots. His long potting's never reliable either.
Apparently Ali had terrible jet lag. |

What a week Jamie Jones is having, he's just won the decider against Michael White...White was first in with 56 but Jamie counter-cleared with 66 to take frame and match and reach his first major semi-final.
Higgins also through, 5-3 over Joe Perry. |

Jamie Jones is getting good at these counter clearances isn't he! I saw the one against Selby last night!
Good semi final that on paper, nice to have something different. |

I'd about given up hope of Jamie Jones doing anything of note on the circuit but I'm glad he's proving me wrong this week. I hope he can go on to win it.

Not inconceivable that Trump could score more points yet lose this 5-1!
