just flicked over to this...as expected, dull dull dull.
Boring baldy Bingham, aka Egg, vs erstwhile fattie God-botherer Murphy. |

Really enjoying this final. Not high quality but very close and tense... How a final should be. One for the purists.
Shame Gibman is not around anymore, he doesn't know what he's missing. Is he a snooker fan or just a Ronnie fan? |

Shaun has taken these very briskly - sign of adrenaline / nerves, but in a good way....9-8!

Going to be controversial here and am preparing for the onslaught but........
I think Clive Everton is past it. Sounds bored, slow, too quiet and without enthusiasm. I know it is snooker and not football but he does sound like his best days are long gone Sorry |

He is busy counting to 1 million
![]() I do take your point actually, in this day and age you do have to give it a bit more hyperbole. He's not bored obviously, far from it, but it may come across that way a tad though. Anyway, barring snookers, like the third song of side two of REM's Murmur, 9-9 it is. |

Never sure you can ascribe a result to one ball, but I suppose you could argue but for the bounce out black Bingham would have won 10-8 by now 😬

This is what snooker is all about
Tense 19th and final frame. Excellent safety play. Nerves on both sides. Crowd very respectful, could hear a pin drop. Very entertaining |

Very enjoyable final. We couldn't have asked for any more really. Yes, the quality could have been better but I'd take what we saw over a quality final finishing 10-5/10-6 any day of the week.
Good to see Shaun Murphy being a winner again. Far too good a player to go two years without winning a ranking tournament but I guess that just shows how hard it is these days what with so many great players around. Also nice to see Stuart Bingham back in a final again. Its been hard for him this season since winning the World title and all the extra pressure that it brings. He's got a lot of stick so good to see him answer his critics! |

Nevermind all this 'just flicked over' malarkey - he was glued to the final. ![]() It was a very engrossing final I thought. Well done to Murphy, and good to see Bingham playing well again. |

Well done to murphy. Just what he needed before the worlds. I think it will have give Stuart a lot of confidence as well even though he lost.

I know it is snooker and not football but he does sound like his best days are long gone Sorry Still nice to hear him 2 or 3 times a year though, like Motty on MOTD - a reminder of a bygone age. Hendon sets the standard these days for me, way above the rest. I'd actually like to see Parrott replace Taylor, Thorne, hell anybody on the BBC and become a main commentator. I've really enjoyed the bits and bobs he's done. |

He seems to be struggling with his voice quite a bit now- but he's not far off 80 so hardly surprising.

I like it. Shame they can't pick up what EuroSport have been showing, as think there is room in the market for a FTA sports channel.
My viewing of ITV sport coverage is very much limited to darts and snooker (I have zero interest in footie, rugby and motorsport) but what I have seen I like the presentation of, in fact so far as these two sports are concerned the ITV team for darts is far superior to Sky's, and their coverage of snooker is more comprehensive than the BBC's (red button excepted) and again the commentary team at least on a par. |

ITV have done a great job of the snooker (and darts) and I love the idea of ITV 4 becoming a purely free to air sports channel but I don't think they have the financial musle to do it.
Anyway I don't think many would want them to grab terrestrial rights to the Worlds off the BBC myself included. |

I think ITV has missed a trick here. ITV now has so much sport that they could surely rebrand ITV4 as ITV Sport (or heaven forbid "Sports") and during the week, especially the early part, when live sport is thin on the ground recap the weekend's events, much as Eurosport do. Giving it the monika "Sport" would raise it's profile above plain old "4".

Yeah they need to pick up more sports rights yet to do some like that. I guess they probably will as snooker rights are up for grabs I think at the end of this year?
They do need so form of live football, even if German or Italian. However can't see that happening with BT and Sky gobbling up football. |
