Don't forget if you are a Freeview only user and have a Smart TV, the BBC Sport app on there will also have both tables streamed there, which you can switch to as you need. I've done that myself, works really well.

Also do note that a chunk of Saturday afternoon's coverage is on BBC1, not BBC2, easy to miss!!
Don't have a TV, I'll be mixing it up between my Eurosport Player (a must for any real snooker fan seen as 75-85% of tournaments are on it) and the BBC Snooker website.

This might get a bit more difficult this year. Most of those regulars had season tickets that entitled them to attend every session of the crucible matches for a bargain price and WS basically gave them as a "for life thing" - and then quickly stopped when the realised the entire crucible would be filled up with season ticket holders. Front Row Chris has recently confirmed on twitter that those are no longer being honoured as of this tournament. Most of them will still be in attendance but will not be at every session.
I see he is having a moan about it but should somebody be entitled to them for life ? isn't it only fair others have a chance to get tickets to go and watch it ?

BBC has to try and please everyone, snooker and non snooker fans. They will get thousands of complaints regardless. They cannot win.
And you wonder why the vast majority of people think that BBC2 is such a boring channel.

I agree with this - mainly because I've always been envious of those guys hogging all the prime seats year in year out

Can't wait for worlds to start. So glad I've booked week off work for final week of it. Some interesting match ups too.
Really excited about it too! I've got the first week off work as I always love the first week of the Crucible even more than the second week personally.

Plus you tend to get matches finishing later than the second week because there are up to 10 frames played in final sessions (as apposed to just up to 9 frames for the second week).

No. They shouldn't. But that's World Snookers' fault, not the guys who took advantage of it. They bought a season ticket, with a promise that they could buy it again each year. So you can understand why they're angry it's just been took away (at such short notice)

And I would wager the terms and conditions said "this can be withdrawn at any time." Its not like they are being told 'you cant go', they now have the same chance as anybody else. If this was a venue that housed thousands then fair enough, but it isn't. It is a small venue and every session is a sell out.

Oh I agree with you entirely, I'm just saying understand their frustration. Especially if, and I don't know if this is the case, they were removed after initial tickets sold out.

I'm planning to go next year so am more than grateful for the extra capacity afforded by these guys not being on STs as it makes it more likely i can get a ticket.

Why can’t snooker venues ever host 10,000 + like the darts do?

Because snooker fans go to watch the snooker and not get pissed....with the obvious exception of the shootout of course.

Really getting excited now! Think I will mainly focus on Bingham/Carter this morning and Murphy/McGill this afternoon but that could change at any moment!

Think its really wide open this year, so many contenders. I'd like to see someone like Kyren Wilson come through and win it... it'd be great for the game IMO.

I don't see it happening but I'd love carter to win the tournament after what he's been through.

I've had a little each way punt on him. 66/1 is too high for a player of his ability and he played great in qualifying.

If he can beat Bingham I'd fancy him to beat either Maguire or McManus.

Plus the fact he seems to play well in this.

I can’t ever see the whole of any world championship final being on BBC1 or even just the very final evening of it being on 1.

I do remember the days when there was only one person in contention at the Crucible on a yearly basis.

Those days are consigned to the history books. Long time ago now.

3-1 to Carter and Fu at each mid-sesh.....better snooker been in the latter to be honest.

Nothing against Bing, and I don't know about anyone else, but I kinda don't want the Crucible Curse ever to be broken...I always say you can't beat a good hoodoo

Checked my tickets for tomorrow (heading up North tonight) and in Row A for both sessions.

I've got Fu - Ebdon in seat A11 (to the right of the players as you look) and in the afternoon I've got Maguire - McManus in seat A31 (far right of the bottom right cushion). But most likely for the morning I'll be visible on telly...
How can anybody see the snooker well from the back row, even more so when they open the partition to let them see the other match on the other table when their table’s match had finished.

Are they ? You find a man who makes 100 century breaks a season boring ? He is pure class. Selby has the all round game. Murphy when potting well is superb to watch and as for Judd Trump, he is very entertaining when on his game. Not denying Ronnie isn't but snooker isn't just crash, bang, wallop. I just wish Ronnie cared about the fans as much as they did about him.
Mind you matches played at a sedate pace don’t exactly set the pulses racing.

And you want it playing in venues that hold over 10.000 people ?
