It wouldn't be his first title.

Barry gets one of the most outrageous fluke reds you could ever see - snookered on all reds missed by a mile but knocked a red in all the same but it only results in a run of 33 points. Tom perhaps should have won the frame but missed a black just when it was looking inevitable and Barry cleared the last couple of reds and colours to sneak it. 2-1 to Barry and poor Tom looks absolutely crushed about that one.

I just check his bio in Wiki and your right Tom won a players tour championship in the 2010/11 season. My apologies

He's won two PTC events. Both in Sheffield, one in 2010, the other in 2011.

haha! I'd forgotten myself that he'd won two until the commentators mentioned it.

Anyway, he didn't win his third event. Barry Hawkins won 4-1.

Looks like there were some great games in the Shanghai Masters Qualifiers. David Grace through to the last 32.....is that his first time ?

yes it was a good week for him.

He actually reached the last 32 of the Shanghai Masters in 2013 before losing 5-0 to Barry Hawkins.

Also a good week for Jamie Cope, he also came from the first qualifying round to end up qualifying for the venue.

Next snooker is the Paul Hunter Classic - starts Friday 28th August.

Does ITV still show that alternative one? Power Snooker? or something.

Does Sky have any snooker left?

There is no word yet as to whether Sky will broadcast the World Seniors Championship.

Paul Hunter Classic is up and running on Eurosport 2 folks and on practically all day.
First up is John Higgins v Stuart Bingham.

How come these two are playing each other so early in the tournament? Is it an open draw?

The seedlings are based on where the players are in the European Order Of Merit, ie the minor PTC ranking events, not the world rankings. Bingham is 21st in this list whereas Higgins is unranked through not playing in many.

it was actually because he lost in the first round to Joe Roberts so didn't get any prize money. This is only the second event of the season.

So the 64 seeds are basically the last 64 of the first event.

👍🏻 Cool, couldn't remember how he got on in the first one or if he entered even 😃

Did anyone see that kick of Murphy's tonight? Worst one I've ever seen!

No. Who did he kick? Barry Pinches or the referee?

Dear old Mark King who hasn't been in a major final since Arsene Wenger was a good manager (2004) was 3-0 up with 4 to play against Murphy.

Loses 4-3

Terrific final in the Paul Hunter Classic. Smurph and Ali Carter - 3 each, decider on the way

The Captain wins 4-3

Well done Ali, I cannot think of a more fitting winner

Quite poignant that Ali's first ranking success post treatment should be the Paul Hunter Classic. Also gets him a place in the PTC final and the Champion Of Champions.
