Great match tonight! Even at 11-11 you still felt that Mark Selby would win but a great effort nonetheless from Sam Baird and as you say TC, I hope he can re-produce that form in other tournaments and of course get back to the Crucible one day.

Really looking forward to tomorrow mornings session. Judd Trump v Ding Junhui should be a cracker and Mark Allen v Kyren Wilson should be a very interesting battle!

Great match tonight I was literally on the edge of my seat! had a bet on Selby to win but I actually wanted Baird to take it at one point! Am looking forward to seeing him again soon though, he's one to watch in future tournaments

Great match tonight. Baird has a bright future methinks. Well played Selby.

Really happy for McManus. Over 25 years on the circuit and still making the QFs of the WC.

Not too sure I understand the question. Do you mean win a snooker match or snooker tournament? Either way I'll say John Spencer.

You have not revealed the answer to your first quiz question yet either.

I'd really love to see Alan make another World Championship semi-final. It's been a very long time since he last did so, with two in a row in 1992 and 1993 I think it was. He seems a genuinely lovely guy and he doesn't even age one bit. Seems to look much the same as he did in the early 90's still. Infact let's be optimistic JC and hope he makes a first World Final, now that would be a story!

It's also very good news to see Mark Williams back in with a shout and being competitive at the Crucible again.

A quick mention of Ebdon, who I heard say the other night - "in 23 years of coming to the Crucible" but I clearly remember his first round demolition of Steve Davis as a pony-tailed newcomer in 1992, so 24 years ago.

The combination of Virgo and Ebdon on the Selby match was a good pairing. More of that set up please.

Yes i think that's what I was thinking as I have been following the provisional rankings.

Still surprised he came into this as number one
World Champs money from 2014 which drops off after the tournament.

Perry Mans at the Masters in 1979 👍🏻

I didn't expect the Mark Selby - Sam Baird match to go that close - well played Sam Baird. The last few frames did get a bit tactical and it could have gone either way from 11-11, but I'm sure the experience for Sam should stand him in good stead (it was his first ever best of 25 match) and he'll come back in future stronger and more experienced for it.

Like many of us, I also was enjoying Peter Ebdon's commentary. I definitely think if he decides to give up playing the BBC should take him on full time - he tells it like it is, has a real handle on the safety side and also liked the way he was getting excited about some cracking long pots too - just the sort of enthusiasm but controlled at the right time.

In my view the BBC need to think in the long term for commentary to effectively retire Dennis Taylor, John Virgo and Willie Thorne and go with:

Steve Davis
John Parrott
Stephen Hendry
Ken Doherty
Peter Ebdon

and if they can say sorry to Neal Foulds and get him back on board, plus if he's not playing Alan McManus, that looks a pretty good line up to me.

Parrott and Hendry were particularly superb for the Kyren Wilson - Joe Perry match, not having to say too much but just enough at the right time. I think JP was surprised when Stephen actually said the safety was the far better shot!!

Couple of bits from watching on Eurosport.

Joe Johnson and Dave Hendon talking about the ticket changes for next year. They said that the regulars used to ring the morning after the final and get season tickets again. From next year that's not possible and it's a free for all. I do feel for some of them but why should others be disadvantaged because the regulars get first pick ? Fair for all now

Also Dave was saying that Ronnie has been saying the worlds should move away from The Crucible now. Totally disagree. That's like playing the FA Cup Final away from Wembley

Watching the coverage on both BBC2 and Eurosport, and the microphones that Eurosport use seem to pick up far more auditorium noise.

So football shirts man may not be in his regular seat next year

Jumping between both games trump a bit all over the place at moment had a 10 quid free bet and stuck in on trump at 4/1 needs to improve.

Great start for Kyren Wilson after his previous match I noticed paddy power still had him at 100/1 to win the title when others had him about 40/1.

Stuck a quid each way on him because my calculations he should not have been 50/1 to win three matches to get to the final although still unlikely , although I felt he would have a good chance against Allen especially with the carrot of the win taking him into the top 16

Eurosport are in London so they probably have the crowd feed in the background.

Re the regulars again. Looking at the Wilson V Allen match, there are empty seats on the front row. That's probably regulars picking and choosing. Not fair on those who'd love front row tickets to a session.

Yes I know I am in the Chester area Tuesday and I looked at the possibility last week for tickets for Tuesday just before the tournament started but there was none

Good to see Ding playing back near his best again this session, looks like Trump is in for another hard battle. Certainly not going to be the demolition job of last year!

Just reading the Dominic Dale v Judd Trump Twitter exchange. Dom didn't tag Judd so he's either searched or follows him. Dale commented about Ding controlling the cue ball better. Judd said Dale was clueless. Idiotic of Trump to go online during the interval. Could have cost him the match, certainly cost him the session. I thought he'd grown up a lot, this shows some immaturity still

Interesting it was 2-2 between Trump and Ding, that twitter spat certainly cost him as he lost the next 4 frames, Ding looking good

Agreed. Barry Hearn is so attached to the place in his own history its hard to see him pressing the button for change, but lets say in some hideous future world it happens I hope common sense would prevail in having a kind of rota where the championships returned to Sheffield every two or three years say.

If ding were ever to win the world the calls for moving it would grow stronger
