Only time he was ahead was at 3-2!

Barry was unlucky there with that kick but brilliant break from Ronnie as usual!

Yes in the first session, he lead 3-2 before Barry won 4 on the spin

I thought the match was destined to be a 13-11 win for Hawkins considering he seems to have had that 2 frame cushion almost throughout.

Usually I would have wanted the Rocket to win this, however the Hawk has played so well ......... and with some of Ronnie's antics this year it grates a bit to see him treat the game with such disdain, retiring then not retiring when it suits.

Bingers has been such a great ambassador this last year for the game, signing every autograph and taking the trophy wherever he has been asked to, I doubt Ronnie could ever emulate him in that respect.

You can't beat fate - that kick has in all probability cost Barry the match and his greatest ever victory.

A real shame for The Hawk but O'Sullivan may not win it this year either.

I am not doubting his unique talent but he has, is and always will be a complete and utter knob.

Due to his fantastic ability for years I really tried to like him but in the end just simply got sick and tired of his childish petulance, arrogance and behaviour in general.

How is Marco Fu's injury ? He is awaiting the winner

I've enjoyed hearing Peter Ebdon in the commentary box, a welcome new insight to the frames.

Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis, the masters of the game, read the shots well, and even Terry Griffiths is making some thought provoking statements in this game.

I went to the Crucible some years ago before the earpiece era, and I really mised the commentary whilst sitting in the audience, maybe not Ted Lowe with the 'Ooooos' and Ahhhhhh's and 'what a great shot that was' though!!

I have not missed Dennis at all, however I do very much wish him a speedy recovery.

The way the balls are positioned reminds me of when I play a frame

Looks like being one of those frames where ekeing out a thirty point lead proves invaluable

Listening to the other players thoughts about Ronnie ...... one said he as a 'Jekyll and Hyde character' and another said he was a great snooker player on the table, off the table he was 'strange'.

Very telling comments, perhaps he is a flawed genius.

My gut feeling is that I want the Hawk to win, although I will miss the O'sullivan flair if he goes out.

Final frame summed up the match really. Gutted Ronnie is out but Barry deserves it. Especially after the masters.

The match did not deserve to be decided by that white going down the pocket.

Yup we were on for something special I think but Ronnie just didn't have the killer finish this time around. There were flashes of what he can do but he let a few chances slip away.

I have to agree with Willie, match of the tournament so far ( and there have been some great contenders for that ). Both players played some wonderful snooker on Saturday and yesterday whilst tonight was utterly gripping. Nice congratulations from Ronnie to Barry there too, fair play to him, he knew what it meant and I have to say I thought the crowd were excellent too.

Well done Barry Hawkins, would lie him to go on and win this now.

Bye bye the Rocket ..... wonder if he'll do the press conference?!!

Bona fide classic, it's easy to say a match is a classic when it goes 12-12 and is tense, but the quality of the encounter throughout makes it unquestionably so. Ronnie needn't reproach himself at all, he had 12 breaks over 60 and still didn't win, which goes to show just how well Barry played.

What a great match! Credit to Barry Hawkins, he deserved to win that. His record against O'Sullivan is terrible so delighted for him to finally get the better of him!

World championship at its best!
