Excellent play from Alan McManus and a century too in that. Superb stuff and he just kept with John Higgins all the way through.

So we will have a qualifier in the final for definite - which shows that revising the qualifying so everyone has to come through three rounds might actually be a positive thing.

Back to Fu v Hawkins - and that last frame was drama. With a capital D.

This last half hour or so has been the best night of snooker for a long time! Incredibly dramatic on both tables... I couldn't stay with one game for more than two shots due to applause and groans on other table!

Just brilliant... And it's not over yet!

Well done to Alan. Never thought he'd win that. How great would it be if he got to final unfortunately he's got ding next and I think that will be one-sided for ding.

If i was Ronnie i would not play any matches next season, so he can get through qualifying and then win the World title

2 qualifiers in the semis - bet that hasn't happened for a while?

Do you think the players might stop moaning about the qualifying when it is helping them reaching the semi finals of the World Championship

Mentioned on Eurosport earlier.

IIRC 1977, only 8 seeds in that year. The 3 qualifiers were Cliff Thorburn, Dennis Taylor and John Pullman.

Absolutely brilliant match!!! And so pleased that Egg-headed Hawkins has gone. With him and Brown Envelopes both out tonight - doesn't get better than that for me

Superb clearance from Marco Fu in the last frame to take it on the black and win 13-11. And under that sort of pressure too.

Fair play to Barry Hawkins for coming back from 9-1 down and being one pot away from a decider. Willie Thorne wasn't wrong when he said what a good match it was.

Well the qualifiers have been of a pretty high standard but it must help finding some form before the tournament starts.

One of the best matches Willie Thorne has ever seen ........ again!

He would have said that about the McManus/Higgins match if he had been watching that tonight!!

Ironic to think that the 3 outsiders could be stopped by a Leicester fan (Selby)

Superb clearance from Marco Fu to win 13-11! Gutted for Hawkins, he did unbelievably well from 9-1 down.

What a fantastic night of snooker! Both games going on at the same time... Haven't seen anything quite like that for a while and no where else but the Crucible would you see that!

John Virgo and John Parrott were talking about the state of the table when they were playing last night. I wonder when we get to the one table set up they will choose the right table, and not the one with that produces so many kicks and bad bounces off the cushion
