Frames 21-24 of Hendry v O'Sullivan in 1999 were all tons. Assuming the sessions were the same number of frames then which I think they were, that would be the 4 frames in the same session after the mid-session interval. See here:

Interesting scenario now for Ding that feels like it could be significant. When relaxed he is sublime but there has been this question mark over his ability to handle pressure and set-backs. After the way he started it is amazing how much the McManus comeback seems to have affected him. I can't help thinking that how he handles this match (maybe even more than the final should he get there) may have implications for him psychologically.

Btw somewhat off-topic have any of you heard this song? I found it when searching for something.

As a singer Alex was a great snooker player.

Marco Fu just knocked his tip off lol! Bit harsh that he's only got 15 minutes to get it fixed.... hardly enough time for the glue to set!

He should be allowed a bit of time on the practice table to bed it in...

I used to have a clamp that would hold it down but it took longer than 15mins to dry.

Disagree with the last bit. If you break a bat in cricket, or a racket in tennis you can't ask for a few practice balls first. It's unfair on your opponent.

I have trouble believing the supposed trauma and emotional turmoil a player goes through when his main cue is broken or stolen. FFS, It's only a dod of wood, surely they have a spare they practice with ?

I don't see John Williams or Nigel Kennedy playing utter shite when they have to play with their second choice instrument.

Amazing that regarding the eight centuries in the Ding v McManus game, none of them have been made in consecutive frames! (unless you count the ones made in frames 8 & 9 but of course different sessions.)

Dennis Taylor really annoys me when he tells us what the referee just said - when we can hear the referee ourselves perfectly clearly.

Where would a McManus title win stand in snooker history.

Considering most of his peers are long gone in the game and it's over 20 years since he got to the semi .

I think it would be the most remarkable triumph in the history of the game

The crowd seem behind McManus as well

Wow, I've just bought two tickets for both afternoon & evening sessions of the 2017 Masters last 16, Wednesday 18th January - I paid £24 in total! What excellent value for money (when I compare it to how much I paid for Wimbledon tickets..... ) Blue section - Row C.

Not utter shite, no, but top musicians certainly do always play the same instrument if they possibly can, because they're so in tune with all the tiny nuances and idiosyncrasies of it. Plus there's the mental reliance on "their" instrument. I'm not in the least bit surprised that snooker players are the same.

I remember when McManus used to sit there puffing away on a fag whilst his opponent was at the table - those were the days.....
