Not utter shite, no, but top musicians certainly do always play the same instrument if they possibly can, because they're so in tune with all the tiny nuances and idiosyncrasies of it. Plus there's the mental reliance on "their" instrument. I'm not in the least bit surprised that snooker players are the same.
