147 alert...

I want McManus to win, but I still want Ding to get a 147 here.

Just got harder and harder didn't it? Would've been only the second Crucible
max in the one table situation.

It is nice to see Cliff Thorburn again

Such a shame that he didn't get the maximum... it looked nailed on (as much as a 147 can look nailed on) early on in the break.

Gone slightly unnoticed though that it was the 9th century of the match... a new record for the World Championship in a single match!

In some ways it seems like the dark ages But it was only 10 years ago (I think) there was the last Embassy World Championship

Gutted for Ding there - a max may have looked on but the last two reds were tricky, and as TC said, would have only been the second ever Crucible max in a one table situation.

Mid session has come at the right time for him to recompose after that effort, and you'd have to think Angles needs to come out no worse than 13-11, but the way he's been coming back, you wouldn't put it past him.

Cracking stuff so far tonight.

McManus on the comeback trail again

Another excellent break from McManus! He keeps fighting back when you think he's falling away. Incredible!

Playing at a nice pace too is Alan. Not too quick and not too slow.

What is that up Alan's nostril ?

Maybe prone to nosebleeds ?

Tremendous shot from McManus Joe Johnson calls it wrongly

Talking about the dark ages I read somewhere earlier. The first year that Alan McManus played at the Crucible the BBC commentary team Dennis Taylor (10) Willie Thorne (11), and John Virgo (14) were in the draw and all seeded! McManus beat Thorne in R1.

Graham Miles, Kirk Stevens, Ray Reardon, John Spencer and Fred Davis were in the qualifying draw that Alan was also in.

Amazing that he's still doing so well.

I wonder if ding is starting to get tired. Although you'd think Alan would since he's 45. Maybe it'll hit him tomorrow.

I always think the afternoon winner on the Saturday is at a big advantage for the final

And Alan got beaten by another commentator in Terry Griffiths

Personally I've always thought friday rest day for both and final should be Saturday and Sunday. I know that'll never happen though.

Do you think this is Dings best chance of winning a World Championship

You would have to start two days earlier to do that. I like that it ends on a Bank Holiday

Its not like we have had a string of poor finals either.
