Are Eastenders and Hollyoaks worth getting back into?
Not watched Hollyoaks for almost a year. I tried and tried but couldn't take it seriously anymore, which is a shame as I'd been watching it since 2004.
Eastenders I've not watched since Bobby was revealed as the killer. I think the Beales went away soon after and not seen it since then. I've always had breaks from Eastenders though and it's usually easy to get back into. So what's the general opinion of both of these soaps at the moment? |

Personally Id say give them both a chance. I think eastenders is hugely on the up after a sketchy few weeks. Overall DTC's reign has been generally very good.
Hollyoaks isn't in a great place but I have hope that it will get better. I'd give it a go anyway. It often has deep troughs. |

Eastenders is beyond terrible at the minute because The Carters have got worse. They are hogging the screen time and storylines and everyone else has become secondary characters. If it doesn't stop DTC will have to go.
Hollyoaks is fun the storylines are silly and unrealistic but you get a laugh watching it. |

You haven't missed anything in EastEnders. The show is currently in the process of starting up new storylines so everything's bubbling away.

Hmmm Hollyoaks probably off the cards then.
What's the new storylines in EE? The last one that interested me was Max taking over Phil's businesses. Phil had just got out but not dealt with any of it before I stopped watching |

Phil had just got out but not dealt with any of it before I stopped watching - Sonia and Tina have been getting cosy with each other, but it wasn't until last night when Tina found out that Sonia cheated on her with Martin. - The Shabnam storyline will be picking up next week, with Shirley finding out that she has a granddaughter, Roya. She along with Masood and Jane decide to search for the baby. - The audience found out that Zoe Slater has a twin brother that Kat doesn't know about. A couple of weeks later, Kat and Alfie got back together and won the lottery on the same night, giving them a little bit of happiness for once. Alfie attempts to buy the Queen Vic. That's all I can think of. |

A big NO to Hollyoaks.
It's defintiely not worth going back to. Don't watch it. I'm serious, stay away from it because it's just gonna frustrate you even more than before. |

I probably wouldn't waste my time on HO, the show a shadow of it's former self, it's not even coherent storytelling, they just jump from A to Z and forget about the middle, shame.
EE tbh I'm not sure there is much worth watching unless you are a big Carter fan it very much centre on them, we had a few good moments with Kat and Alfie, Ronnie and Vincent stuff but mostly the Carters get the feel of the episodes. |

Neither are much worth bothering with at the moment.

EastEnders has been painfully dull with too much Carters, most of which is quite dull and repetitive and i don't like them that much and too much nonsense with Kat and Alfie who i can't stand. And Phil always winning and getting his own way gets boring too

It all depends on how much patience you have.
EE was getting back to being unmissable but now it's back to repetitive Carter family scenes, which I prefer to miss. I am enjoying Hollyoaks more even though most of the story lines are laughable and most of the characters are annoying. Hope that helps. |

I say watch a weeks worth of episodes of both shows and judge for yourself.
You may hate it, you may love it. It's soap. With plotholes, inconsistency, annoyances and everything else but it doesn't mean it can't be entertaining. I don't get why Hollyoaks has such a high standard to reach with people when other soaps are guilty of the same things the show gets slammed for. If something bad happens in a show it's an annoyance. If it happens in Hollyoaks its reason to scream for the show to be axed and accuse the EP of being on drugs. |
