wireless/bluetooth keyboard for Samsung smart 3D TV?
I am purchasing a Samsung smart 3D TV tomorrow, model number ue48h6670.
I am looking to also purchase a wireless or bluetooth keyboard to use with it. Does any one know which i need? Are they the same thing? Can anyone recommend a decent one? Thanks! |

Samsung themselves do one, it is about £65 but I got two catalogue returns for about £30 each. It makes a good PC or tablet input device too.
it has infra-red for controlling the TV functions as well as bluetooth and a touchpad. unfortunately several of theSamsung smart apps are not keyboard aware, you still have ti type by picking letters on the screen. |

Just checked and it's the Samsung VG-KBD2000.
Amazon UK, £75, Currys, John Lewis, £60. Via Ebay UK, £45+p&p, cheaper Ebay USA. Plenty of opinions on Amazon reviews. |

I'd suggest you wait until you've got the TV, find out whether it makes use of standard wifi or bluetooth connectivity and consider whether the OEM remote provides any useful additional functionality before deciding what to do.
If you do end up going for an after-market keyboard, I'd strongly suggest you go for one that has a mouse-pad built-in rather than one that works as an "air-mouse". Waving the keyboard around in order to control an on-screen cursor is frustrating on a Wii (where the software is designed to accommodate a clumsy selection method) and it's absolutely infuriating when you're trying to click on, say, hot-links on a regular web-page. I bought 2 Rii i12 keyboards a while back and I'm very happy with them. The only "drawback" it has is that it is simply a small PC-style keyboard so it doesn't offer much in the way of extended functionality which might work with a smart TV. If you're looking for a device which can control a lot of the features of your TV then you really need to start looking at as many mini-keyboards as you can find and seeing if you can figure out whether they have buttons which can be used to control the various features of your TV. It can end up getting a bit frustrating when one keyboard can do half the stuff you want but a different one does a bunch of other things and you can't find one that does everything. Which is when you'd probably just end-up deciding to go with the OEM controller, regardless of the price.

I do believe Samsung do a smart view app for phone/tablet which can act as remote, mouse and keyboard. If you have either device it might be worth looking into. My Panasonic app has remote, touch pad and keyboard functions and it's very user friendly.
