EastEnders has gone happy!
I must say I have really enjoyed the past two episodes.
The scenes with Kat and Alfie on Thursday were brilliant and that cliffhanger was one of the best in years. It felt so realistic and I think that's how people would react when they learn they have just won a million pounds. The singing and Dancing from Kat and Alfie on Friday was another joy to watch and everyone cheering and clapping The dancing in the Vic was good to see too. It's nice to see EastEnders happy but I hope the gloom and doom soon returns. Kat and Alfie so deserve it though

I hope gloom and doom never returns. I feel more relaxed watching happy, dramatic EastEnders.
I was in the minority of which enjoyed Lorraine's era. |

The happy episodes have been good but I,m sure the doom and gloom isn't far off, I hope we continue to see some happy things every now and again.

It feel so weird watching eastenders happy. TBH when eastenders is happy I found it boring and dull. I rather it to be gritty and exciting.

I'm loving Kat and Alfie right now, all loved up and fun and happy and loving life. It's a shame Kat hasn't had more to smile about in her life because she has the most radiant smile and her happiness is so infectious. It's impossible not to be happy for her. It makes what has happened to her in life even more tragic because you can see her natural personality is so engaging and vivacious.
EE wouldn't be EE without all the grit and drama but Kalfie's joy has been a lovely change. |

I was in the minority of which enjoyed Lorraine's era. I don't watch soaps for ''Happy'' though. Her EastEnders was boring and I just found myself watching the clock because nothing actually seemed to be happening most of the time. |

I think Kat and Alfie needed a bit of joy after all they have been through. Be nice to see Billy have some luck too.
![]() What I liked about the Kat and Alfie episodes is that they were actually back together and happy before they found out about the win. |

The light-hearted : doom gloom ratio needs to balance - both are good as long as they don't have too much on either side, imo.

I was expecting the lottery people to call them and say it was a mistake.

I like the dark and gritty drama but I love the light-hearted stuff too and Kat and Alfie/Jessie and Shane have been absolutely brilliant this past couple of weeks and i'm going to miss them like mad when they leave!

I really enjoyed these couple of happy episodes.
I didn't know whether I would enjoy the lotto win s/l when I read about it beforehand but I found it uplifting. Also, seeing Kat & Alfie's win made me do the Euromillions on Fri and I won £11.50

The last two episodes have been written by Daran Little I think, which automatically for me makes them better but seeing Kat & Alfie happy is brilliant.
