Was Big Brother 9 a classic series?

Up there with the likes of BB3, 5, 6 and 7? Or does it fall short? I was just browsing some BB9 clips on YouTube last night and forgot how great and memorable it was.

- Alexandra and Mohammed's argument over him being a Muslim and cross dressing, with them both giggling over Mo not being able to undo his bra.

- Mikey being hit by the baseball, his hilarious/cringe inducing stand up routine, and eating the scotch bonnet chilli.

- All of Jennifer's hysterics during spitgate. "You wouldn't do that to Monet!"

- Sylvia's dramatic collapse behind the sofa after it was announced Dennis had been removed, and later in the bedroom she says "I've had my heart ripped out of my chest. Literally."

- Kathreya's eviction, of course.

Just some of the scenes I watched, there's plenty more to help argue why it was such a great series. Or maybe it just looks better in hindsight given some of the series that followed it.

It's certainly my favourite out of the later C4 series. And I think it does seem to be the most popular out of those series on here.

"Let's hope justice is served and Mohammed goes" - Sylvia went next

The Whispers completely oblivious as to why they were getting picked off one by one

The look on Bex's face when her name was called out for eviction when she was so sure Mohammed was going

Rex's chances of winning effectively getting torpedoed when they stuck his obviously undercooked girlfriend in there

Zezi getting spotted in the camera run on her first attempt

Brian Dowling often saw the cameramen, referring to them as demons. And also, I'm sure Dermot got spotted in the camera run more than once. I'm sure I remember one time when he opened the curtains and then saw BB5's Dan who coincidentally at that point, happened to be right up at the window looking at his reflection. He then had to immediately duck down to the floor.

Yes it was. In my opinion 10 was as well. The man-eaters (Noirin and Bea) were fantastic. But that's for another thread.

It was Citizen Kane compared to C5's stuff.

Thought it was poor myself (a few classic moments aside like Mikey in the swimming pool and with the chillies).

- Rex being a mean **** throughout.
- His horrible behaviour after his GF came in.
- General nastiness and a really negative feeling.

One of the worst later CH4 ones in my opinion (but didn't watch 10 which I hear was a car crash).

It was building nicely until the producers ruined antihero Rex by throwing his ghastly girlfriend into the mix.

The series never really recovered once he was neutered.

One of the better outings, though, I'd say.

It was a good series. Nicole's reign of terror was a low point but her eviction to 94% in a 3 way vote was delicious and certainly worth it.

BB9 is my favourite series, although I didn't watch all of the early series.

What do you mean?

The "one by one" part would might follow just from all the evictions being single ones, but it wasn't a WC HM every week. (Are you counting Dale and Stu as WC, btw?)

For "picked off", there was Kat's attempts to line up nomination targets by saying who "broke her heart", I suppose.

Yes. It was the last classic, good Big Brother series.
