Worse than fiddling benefits she helped misery-guts Jim Davidson win the show.

A very timely message to many of us here.

PIP will mean the end of many previously 'deserving' claims under dla criteria.

Just wondering how many contributors here will have to get up off their arses and get a job rather than relying on an obstinate headache or similar to get them our of working for a living.

Exactly. Reminds me of the MPs and their expenses.

It won't make much difference. There will always be those who know all the tricks to milk the system.

What a horrible comment. I have suffered from chronic migraines and headaches for years, it is awful, sometimes I have migraines for weeks on end, I have tried many prophylactic treatments and nothing has worked. it is certainly bad enough to stop me working. Before you start, I don`t claim benefits, I don`t need to, but it is certainly a bad enough condition to warrant the claiming of benefits.

That sounds horrific, Sandy.

For the record I have never claimed benefits either, apart from child benefit.

Thanks Honey, I have other health problems too and it makes me angry when people dismiss others problems and say they are an excuse for claiming benefits. People who are sick are entitled to benefits.

The way they do the testing now it looks like even those who genuinely qualify are being refused a lot of the time, so I very much doubt that anyone could get through on a made up illness.

Ok, well I know this is a bit out of left-field... but I suffer from migraines too. various treatments, neurologist, EEGs, MRIs.. the usual. Eventually they tested my hormones and it turned out I was really low in oestrogen. Went on oestrogen patches and.... NO migraines.

I know the odds are small, but if you've tried everything but that - might be worth a go.

Thankyou but I have tried HRT patches and they didn`t work and gave me side effects. I`m glad they worked for you though.

Sorry to hear that, but can I just check something - if you've already done the HRT thing the chances are they were oestrogen AND progesterone patches. The latest thinking is that oestrogen-only is the answer (even if you still have your womb).

Hope you find an answer soon - they are awful things to have.

They were oestrogen only patches for two weeks followed by oestrogen and progesterone for two weeks. They didn`t get rid of the migraines and exacerbated my depression. Thanks for your good wishes and for trying to help.
