Were BB Forced into releasing the info on HM's? If Not why have they announced it?

It seems strange and is going to ruin launch night IMO, that's why I havent seen many of them apart from the odd thumbnail on the DS Website. Why oh why have they done this?? Also from the comments I read its all young people again, as someone who falls into the young age demographic, I still find it annoying. I wish it was a more diverse house, like the last BB in C4, but maybe dummed down slightly. Saying that last year it was totally young people then Pauline came in and everyone voted for her probably because she was last in and everyone was thinking how great it was we had had the first older housemate in the series. It seems they've turned it into a TOWIE kind of cast. But saying this I always moan about the HM's then I really like the series. Apart from Summer 2012. That was AWFUL. Infact 2012&13's winners were abysmally boring.

I think they want us to know them so we are initially more invested in certain ones. I'm sure they are putting them into groups or something as well. Probably because they want the arguments to start as quickly as possible, since that's what we all love right?

I find it odd - I thought it was maybe we would be voting for something as of Sunday, but that's not the case.

It's the first time they have done this so I will wait to see how it affects viewership, but if anything, it seems to me that the usual line up of models and previous TV contestants will put people off. Yes, they might be the best housemates ever, but on paper there isn't much to lure the viewer in - if anything it could well turn people off.

They did it on the papers for BB2 too.

But I can see why they are trying it. It's got social media going more than it usually would for regular BB.

A lot of them on their interviews have claimed they want to have a positive experience and aren't there for only rows.

Maybe a sign that the trailers weren't getting them enough buzz. I must confess that I can't be arsed with it, it looks like it's going to be a same old same old year.

I've got a good feeling...on the HMs that is. Producer ott twists may balls it all up.

Please no public perception tasks! Or DR exposed things.

Is that possible?

Agree with you overall though.

'More diverse like the last C4 series'. You mean BB10 not BB11 right? If so, there was a lot of negativity on launch night for BB10. People were all saying 'This is BBUK. Not international BB'.That may be the reason they never did it again?

You just know there will be all that stuff again and again. No LF etc......
I'll check in here after a few days to get a flavour. My OH might force me to watch it again but for now it's not on the planner.

hope they were forced because if it was their choice, its one of the most stupidest choices they've made

American reality shows tend to release a cast list before the shows start,so I guess this is just the Uk Endemol branch following suit.

It has generated extra publicity, to be fair. The likes of BBC News and The Independent have done stories on the housemates.

Also made the local press in towns and cities where the HMs are from.

The also did it for the 1st ever BB by promoting the show as no one had a clue what the show was about and releasing the housemates, where they from, what they do etc kind of got me interested to tune in. The problem now is that it's not a social television experiment but a quick way to make a buck and get yourself media attention
