Why have the new housemates been revealed? whats the point in the launch show now? they may as well put them in the house and show day 1 on the launch night. I think Channel 5 have totally killed Big Brother
Why have the new housemates been revealed?
You didn't have to look. People who have peeked obviously wanted to. On the forums you need to actually click on the link to be shown. Shame though because Twitter is less protected and has it all there.
To generate social media and press talking, hopefully more viewers.
Known technique from some drama shows where they broadcast an exclusive preview episode or in the case of 'Peter Kay's Car Share' the whole series in advance which generated lots of mentions on social media.
They haven't "killed Big Brother", the ratings drop between the 1st and 2nd launch shows showed people got bored with the launch shows and made them turn off.
If they can get the launch show over quicker and get viewers engaged in the house action they might keep them as viewers.
Launch shows don't show any engaging house dynamics just how well people can walk along a stage and up some stairs and be boringly friendly with each other.

I havent actually looked at the new housemates I just heard they revealed them before the show has even started and I think thats stupid as that isnt Big Brother
It's not as if we'll know much about them from the info revealed...waste of time IMO.
People on here are already making their judgements on the HM's from the little they've read about them....daft. lol

I believe its because your game has become americanized. Its always done that way in the USA and now Canada.
As a long time BBUK lover, i've found your last two seasons just too americanized. Valueing Fighting and Conflict, casting deliberately obnoxious people who create 'fake' good tv and drama by being foul.
Katie H and Helen Wood to name two.
Its really ruined bbuk for me and i'm hoping this season will not have the 'production picked' drama and fight villian. I like it when people are playing the game, not production choosing and protecting their pick, ala free pass to end

Just saw them, and don't like any of them, so that's a good start. Some of them don't look like normal people to me. booo

Could this be the first ever BB that none of the viewers like any of the HM's I wonder?
I really don't like the idea that they have released name & photoes of the HM's, I've seen glimpses of them but I don't want to know anything about the HM's, cause for me that's the whole excitement of the launch seeing the HM's for the 1st time.
i think it is because they all arent housemates yet but will be in the future.
think about it this years house will see the housemates from the past, present and most importantly future.
past and present housemates is easy to sort out.
