I see what they're doing by making Phil and Carol leave Tuscon together. They ARE the show. Tuscon chapter has finished and they'll be starting afresh in another town for season 2. Which basically means this series could run and run. So that's the last time we ever see Melissa or Todd again i imagine? Season 2 will probably have a brand new cast of new last people left on Earth. Interesting ending with the astronaut in space who we discovered is Phil's brother.

Roll on season 2 next Monday. Great show!
I saw the trailer for the Season 2 opener tonight and it seems like Phil and Carol end up in the White House

I haven't even seen the ad for season 2 on Dave yet. Considering how off the wall the show is i wouldn't be surprised by that at all. Phil is the President after all!

This is an unofficial UK Pace thread for viewers who are watching this at UK pace like myself on channel Dave. Don't post spoilers here - tagged or otherwise!

Ep1 of season 2 is airing in a few hours. You couldn't have held off? If you wish to start a US pace thread feel free but don't paste US pace spoilers in here. Thank you.

Fair enough. I didn't appreciate that Dave was showing it so near to US transmission date. In future, I shall resist posting.

Decent season 2 opener i thought.

Loved the craziness - driving around in a stealth jet or whatever it was, living and playing about in the White House and even Carol seemed more relaxed and open to Phil just being Phil.

Things took a dramatic turn when he lost Carol (the use of the MIA track was genius!) and i really thought we had seen the last of Tuscon. I have to admit i did miss Todd and Melissa so it was nice he went back home but who knows what the hell happpened with his house being burnt down and will he find Carol? Ended on quite a dark note.

Really don't get the random scenes with his brother in space. It doesn't add anything to the show unless he eventually comes back down to Earth.

Yes they are. Good on them i reckon.

Don't be silly. Please feel free to post your thoughts but prefer you do it after the episode has aired in the UK.

I'd imagine that after he found out Carol had left Phil 2 went completely postal and burned Phil 1's house down. Perhaps as a result of this Todd, Melissa and the other two women did a runner.

As for Phil's brother I wonder if we'll find out what happened to the rest of the astronauts....

That's what I meant. Very bad wording from me in my last post.

It was a great opening episode. Quoting Carol: "That's a picture of my parents Carol and Marcia." Phil: "So your Dad was called Carol, too." Carol: "No, Marcia." lol

That could be the most likely scenario.

That was a good line from Carol. Said with a straight face!

It's out on DVD in the states but I'm not sure about here.

I was glad when he went back home the other lot wasn't there. Hopefully that will be the last we see of them.

Surely there's no great harm if someone uses the spoilers thing (I'm not sure what it's officially called, but the thing where spoilers are hidden from view unless you press the icon that says 'spoilers')? That way no one will see anything they don't want to.

Me too, i think season one went downhill when more and more people turned up. I much prefer Phil & Carol on their own (although this limits the scenarios).

Turns out I was wrong regarding my theory about what had happened in Tuscon

Well, having got all annoyed with this series due to Phil being awful, I'm still watching! I think season 2 has made him a great deal more endearing so far. At least he actually cared enough about finding Carol to think of all those different ways.

Will Ferrell had a bit of a short cameo.
I do hope this season doesn't end up with the same fighting and bickering now that the others are back. I was finding it much funnier without them.

You never know he could have survived.

I liked the bit with the train.

This episode was genius for one reason and one reason alone....the use of the classic song 'Informer' by Snow!!! How has no one else mentioned this?! Just absolute genius having the gang having a sing-song to it on the beach in Malibu with Will Ferrell of all people! LOL!

For anyone who doesn't know what i'm talking about - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StlMdNcvCJo

It reached No2 in the UK charts in 1993 selling 335k copies. Oh the glory days! Pure nostalgia moment

Does anyone else now love Carol or is it just me? The pre-credits sequence with Carol at the gas station was brilliant. Lol.

I agree. The train was pure Phil Miller. Loved the part where the steamroller killed Rice (the football) and Phil's reaction - 'he's just got the wind knocked out of him!'

I thought the first series was promising, The second outing hasn't let me down.

The show is fast becoming an all time favourite. Okay, the title "The Last Man on Earth" is a bit misleading, because Phil isn't (he isn't even the last Phil Miller), but who cares?

This show can go from strength to strength. If is can add to its cult following then perhaps a movie will be warranted.
