Irish girl
Now I have no problem with the Irish, my dad is one but came onto this thread after launch night thinking that everyone would pick up on her roll eyes and removing herself from everyone that she considered uncool, who does she think she is

Nothin wrong with roll-eyes. I wish they'd bring them back on DS forums.

Totally up herself. Surely there must be some lovely women in Ireland, why they always pick the beyatches is beyond me.

Anyone who likes animals more than people, i'm sorry i just can't get with that.
The day an animal creates a tv show like Buffy/Firefly or some of the amazing music out there, or when animals start looking like Natalie Dormer... perhaps. Nah. Not even then because there's still the originals. |

I agree with her apart from 3 members of my family and 2 others who I think of as family I prefer animals to everybody else.

I find the animal thing off-putting as well. Also the what are my bad points 'have you seen me?!?' thing; having said that, these VTs are notoriously loaded.
If you look at Adoaje's (sp?) VT; she came across really well to begin with, then, bang! She's a nutcase! Also Sarah. All three, however, came across much meeker and less sure of themselves both on their intro 'interviews' (given Willis' appalling performance I'm using the term lightly) and on the little we saw of them on the night. So, in summary, too early to tell. |

So a persons worth is judged by their ability to make tv shows?!!
There's a reason why some of us prefer animals ![]() What could an animal possibly have to offer as "judged worth" by comparison? Care to enlighten me? |

Artistic creation is definitely something i consider extremely worthy of my admiration, interest and love, etc.

Well as a sentient being that creates less damage to the environment, I'd say all of them. And by comparison you are still referring to artistic creation, so I guess you won't agree because we clearly have different ideals and opinions on what worthy is.

On the other hand how many animals have started wars. Yeah, i don't think we'll agree on this matter as i don't believe that's any credit to animals in lack of complex choice/mind. They kill each other as such but i don't think that they're capable of war on the larger scope same level as humans. Also that's painting all people within the same brush as if everyone likes and supports war and destruction which i wouldn't agree with as humans are much more complex than that. Lacking complexity in mind/choice i don't know is a great credit or worth to anything, at least i wouldn't think so and in my view. How many animals murder another animal based on religion race or sexuality. There is a lot more I could say. ![]() Anyway, i was just talking about what i love... i'm a lover of all of the various artistic creations which i find gives great meaning to life and so that's of great importance to me. That doesn't mean i enjoy war/destruction either. I simply view humans as very complex and don't think it's a black and white thing as such, that is... because some humans might kill someone based on religion doesn't take away from the magnificent and beautiful art that is created, etc. |

While her VT didn't do her any favours, I was cringing as she stood on the stage with Emma. People shouting "Sl*t" and 'Wh*re' need to get a life! Emma wouldn't let her go, and she looked uncomfortable.
Saying that, these people are putting themselves out there but still don't deserve such insults. |

That's two threads with 'Irish girl' in the title ..is Jade that difficult to type? judge her by all means, as Jade, but not with the caveat that she's irish.

I don't like Jade - at all - yet; but I'll safely predict that I'll end up defending her because whatever she does will be (a la Noirin, Orlaith, Caoimhe, Hazel, Ashleigh) judged disproportionately harshly on here. Good looking, articulate Irish women are not liked here. |

Not that it's really important to this subject per say but I could genuinely live without art, music, drama, film etc artistry really doesn't interest me (though I do read a lot) I am much happier sat in the woods with my dogs or foraging etc
![]() But you do read, so... i'm sure you could appreciate the beauty of certain poems and literature. [I consider that art] Well, i guess it comes down to "too each their own" yet again. It's one of those things i don't think i'll ever get in how someone could like animals and prefer animals more than humans. |

I'm glad someone else brought this up - because I'm sure the regulars are sick of my whining about this every year; and it does happen every year. No-one is writing about the Welsh bloke as 'the Welsh bloke'; Irish women are fundamentally defined by their Irishness in the DS psyche for some reason. I'm afeard of analyzing why that is too much, to be honest.

Yes! I noticed her pulling faces at the "outcast" type people, for lack of better word.
