A none too subtle attempt by the OP to start what he hopes will become a megathread.
PS - it's considered poor form to keep on bumping your own thread with banalities like "hope you enjoyed it" etc. |

Not much that I'd watch on tonight. Might record Cornwall : Walking through history and watch the film Where Eagles Dare. If not will be catching up on some of my recorded stuff.
Don't think the programmes are much cop on a Saturday night now and all the films have been shown before recently, eg. Spider-Man 3. For what it's worth I like this thread

I used to like Britain's Got Talent. I really enjoyed the year with Stavros Flatley, Susan Boyle and that young Shaheen Jamaorghali lad (2010 ?) but have enjoyed it less and less since due mainly to all the boring street dance acts (which the panel seem to absolutely love) and the lack of 'funny' acts. But what finally killed it for me was that absolutely ridiculous 'hypnotist' dog act a few weeks back.

What is Machair?
That 1864 looks really think I will record it as well I take it the Taggart ep will be the classic long eps which are 3 hours long but I like watching it. I love listening to the Gaelic language and it's funny when they throw the odd English word in! Some of the characters speak in English but it's mainly Gaelic so I need the subtitles ![]() Yes the Taggart episodes are three hours. They keep messing around with the episodes though, they showed the first and second ever episodes a few weeks back then they suddenly jumped to series two and tonight it's series three episode two! |

Got in about an hour ago - currently watching HIGNFY on iplayer, even though I watched it last night. Can't find anything else on. Quote:
Machair is a Gaelic soap set on Lewis. Not as much happens as something like Eastenders

Did you watch Sanjeev Kohli's programme about learning Gaelic? he visited Lewis as it's where his wife is from. I only discovered the Gaelic channel about a month ago when I was on holiday somewhere that had it. Now I've seen it's on iplayer I might give some of the other programmes a go. |

Tonight I will be watching
7pm DCI Banks - recorded 8pm Sunday Night At The Palladium - ITV 9pm Home Fires - ITV 10.05pm ITV News Will need to watch all these on timeshift so I can fast forward the ads. There is a good choice of telly tonight from the brand new drama on bbc 1 - Jonathan Strange and MR Norrell along with the other Sunday night staples Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow on bbc 1 to the classic which is The Great Escape on Ch 5 |

I haven't seen that, it's a shame I didn't know it was on. I've just noticed there's a programme about Gaelic for beginners called 'Speaking our Language' on week nights at 7.30pm, but it's on episode 11/18 so I've missed quite a bit! There have been some interesting programmes on the channel, worth having a look.
I'm rubbish at languages so there is no way I'd even attempt to learn Gaelic but those programmes do have lovely scenery. ![]() Today, is Sunday which means Judge Judge and Hoarders while sorting out paperwork. Oh yes I am pure class. I might put the Diamond League I missed on Friday on iplayer for a bit as a break. And I'll have a look at the second half of Krol Roger on the Opera Platform (thankfully it's only 25 mins) as well as it was so boring I left at the interval - and found it just as tedious on R3. I may as well see what I missed though. |
