What's cruel? They tried a different tact and thankfully for them this time it worked

Infinitely better to see them having fun on launch night, rather than BB stirring it up from the start and making it a very tense house full of scrutiny and suspicion

Particularly since he spent so much time building up to this moment, and they take it away from him for a laugh.

It sucks.

May be biased because if it was anyone else I wouldn't have been happy, but it was Simon. Karma for being annoying, SHOWBIZ, SHOWBIZ... yes, SHOWBIZ yourself out the door.

Yep - he was an actor paid to do a job.

I agree with the first poster . I think it terribly cruel to evict on the first night .
Apart from anything else the entrants will have arranged time off from work and other commitments for the foreseeable so getting evicted on the first night is really not nice .
I say that as someone who disliked simon and couldn't stand his jazz handing and shrieking THAT'S SHOWBIZZZ !
It was just cruel and he handled it well to be fair . I'd have thrown a wee hissy fit I think .

He was losing his mind at the end when Emma was speaking to him - "THAT'SSSSSS SHOWBIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!"

Of course it's cruel. But that's what BB is like nowadays, it's a game rather than an experiment. The contestants are just there for entertainment value - who cares about their feelings?!

I didn't like him at all, but in fairness he handled himself with dignity. Deep down he must have been so disappointed though, I know I would have been.

Didn't like this twist. No one wants to be the first out, but you go in knowing that you may be. The difference is that if you're the first out fair and square that's reasonable, you knew what you were letting yourself in for. If you've gone through the audition process, made arrangements for your time in the House and then you're thrown out on the first night completely at random, I think that's unnecessarily harsh.

Check out twitter #abusedbysimongross

Not a popular chap in the theatre community by the looks...

If it is a fix, that's probably why.

Atleast he was memorable telling then chav in the audience to **** off was quite funny. Glad the man is out though he had a creeper vibe about him probably another Perez show waiting to happen.

My twitter timeline last night was full of people in the theatre community saying what a notorious shitbag and con artist this guy is.

I thought it was cruel.....but - BB, nowadays, is like that !!

A shame, though - it is a very young House & he had similarities to Derek Laud, BB6.

He would have calmed down !! A mixed age House always works better

It was very cruel and anyone suggesting it was a good twist just because they didn't like him is being hypocritical.

One has to question if it was staged, will he come back and had it been a popular HM would they definitely have come back as they obviously have the option to go either way with this theme.

All a bit of a mess.

I don't think people should get too bothered about it - he'll obviously be back at some point.

Me too, he was a show off. I am pretty sure it was all a fix, too many coincidences of who got what.

It was all pointless and a complete waste of some ones time all for 30 seconds of moderate drama.

It only "works" if the evicted HM is someone you dislike or not bothered about. Regardless of how I feel about Simon it was cruel. But then this is the type of thing you sign up for.

All of the contestants are self-obsessed wannabes who will go to any lengths to get on the show. They know the rules and they know that anything could happen to humiliate them at any time. Yet they still go in. There is no fairness. It's just a long pointless game when their lives get messed with.

It was pretty mean but every time he said Showbiz it drove me insane
