Why do they treat twins as one housemate?
Honestly, what is the supposed reason for this?
It simply encourages the twins to stick together at all times, when surely the whole point of Big Brother is for people to mingle with others, get out of their comfort zone etc? |

Who knows, nowadays, the reasoning of BB ![]() They are very attractive - it will probably stir up the green eyed monster with the other girls. It seems unfair, for obvious reasons - but they are probably at a disadvantage with the voting public. |

Sam and Amanda started off as separate housemates and towards the end they were asked if they wanted to become one housemate, I'm sure
![]() they had to face the public vote if they accepted or something along those lines. Producers probably realised no one was ever going to put either of the twins up and they'd split a vote as individuals when it came to the last week. |

When I auditioned in 2012, I met a boy who was auditioning with his twin sister as one Housemate. He said that they were asked when they went in if they wanted to be considered as one Housemate or as separate Housemates, and they chose to be one Housemate.
I imagine that everyone who applies with someone else gets a choice. The twins are generally one Housemate, but Jackie and Charlie, the mother and daughter from BB14, were separate Housemates. As were Mario and Lisa, the couple in BB9. |

I'd prefer the twins were separate, any twins I know live being twins but want to be known as individuals. I think if they are separate we'd get to know both personalities better, they are two people after all.

Not enough personality for 2.
Even 1 seems generous. |

I always think it unfair to combine two hms into one and anyway its unfair to have two hms that know each other, as has already been pointed out on this thread.

On the plus side, it's cheap to vote for both.

If one twin annoys someone or does something wrong and one doesn't the innocent one can get nomned and evicted for nothing at all. |

Even 1 seems generous. I don't think a set of twins has ever been evicted, either, so they're probably nailed on the for the final. Lucky us. |

They're SO identical they'd need permanent name badges, nomination time would be a nightmare.

If they were seperate they would never vote for each other so that would give them an unfair advantage , albeit slight in the beginning but more significant as the series wore on, plus of course other housemates might accidently vote for the wrong one.

They should stop putting people who are related/know each other in. It's boring now.

Because they have a huge advantage over other HMs. If a HM gets isolated or is upset they have no friends to turn to. Twins have known each other all their lives and will comfort and support each other throughout. We have seen over the years how lonely and isolated some HMs have been with no one to turn to.

I think it would be interesting if the twins were separate housemates it would be interesting to see which one got nominated more often than the other & which one the public like more, they are two separate people have separate thoughts ideas etc just because they look the same they shouldn't be one housemate
