I can see why he's favourite but he seems to try too hard and I can see him playing a game in the long run to win.

Yes. His overuse of "Pie Face" screams of getting people to feel sorry for him. Casually dropped in the "I'm a gambling addict" backstory within the first few hours too. Who could vote him out? He's constructing the ultimate feel-good persona.
I don't get the Jack love, why was he a favourite with the bookies? With his personality I'm surprised he even got through the auditions.
