This has been out of action for two days now with what appears to be an error message - TTG-201. I assume this is the same for everybody? I'm only really bothered about it because I can't get Sky Arts 1.

Fixed. I unplugged both box and router for about a minute.

I had the same problem again today when I couldn't access the free Sky channels via the guide.

That made me wonder if it had messed up the recording of The Enfield Poltergeist, which I set to record after suddenly noticing it was on late last night. After unplugging both the box and the router for a few seconds I eventually found that the recording had taken place, except that although it was titled correctly, it was actually a recording of some American rubbish called Stalker. Luckily it's on again tonight.

Odd. I haven't downloaded anything from the TalkTalk Player for about a month now, but I check into it regularly to see if there are any new films that I want to watch. I haven't noticed any problems.

I'm now finding that every day, I have to re-boot the box if I want to see anything on the free Sky channels, either via the guide or through the TalkTalk/Sky player (same thing I suppose). Programmes can somehow be recorded, but I still have to re-boot the box to be able to watch them. Otherwise it simply comes up with a message saying something like, "This service isn't available at the moment. Please try later".

Could it be that your box is playing up? Before I switched my Huawei box for the BT-branded Humax one, I noticed that the TalkTalk Player still operated desperately slowly, even after the update that sharpened everything else up. Via the BT box, TT Player works quickly and reliably.

It could be the box but I have a feeling it's just buggy. This is the second time I've had a TalkTalk YouView box. I sent the first one back when they put the price up and didn't miss it at all. I bought a Humax 2000T which did everything I wanted more efficiently. This time I took it up again as a kind of loyalty offer and send the Humax on long-term loan to my dad, even though he doesn't have an internet connection to get the best out of it. To be honest, even the existence of BBC1 and BBC1HD as separate channels confuses him.

Every time I want to watch the Sky channels (very rarely) or the iPlayer (quite often), I have to unplug the mains lead and plug it in again, or else I get the "not available at the moment" message. I also hate having to scroll through the channels in their default order, even though I've only kept 39 channels out of the 266 available. I think I might have to give my dad the YouView box and get my Humax back again
