I hope there's a impressionist at some point. Impressionists are great on BGT; wish they weren't considered so 'old hat' so one could potentially win.

These are some of my fave acts too.

Marea Smithson from a few year's back was absolutely brilliant. Her Audrey from Corrie and Ann Widdecombe were amazing.

The guy tonight was pretty good...

personally, i thought he was terrible. i always think at least if you can't get the voices, get the mannerisms and he couldn't really do either very well. but that's just me.

He was ok, but past impressionists who have appeared on the show were far better.

I agree. I think that when an impressionist has to announce the voice he's doing, as this guy did, that means he probably isn't very good

I didn't know who most of the acts he impersonated were supposed to be. Surely a good impressionist shouldn't need to tell the audience who they are.

I worked out Gary Barlow, John Bishop and Michael McIntyre. Didn't get Billy Connolly, though (didn't sound like him to me) or David Beckham (that's probably more because I don't watch football, though).

Says it all really. He was not even entertaining.

He was so bad I was surprised that the bovine, simpering oaf Walliams didn't use the Golden Buzzer.

When compared to Les Gibson, Paul Burling, Francine Lewis, Jon Clegg and Boyzone guy he wasn't that good.

The problem with impressionists is that they tend to just do the same famous people all the time.

Great, he did David Beckham...but Alastair McGowan was impersonating David Beckham (better) ten years ago.

That's why Alastair, and also Rory Bremner, are famous impersonators and this guy isn't. He just isn't in the same league.

After last night, as the OP says, no impressionists.

The bloke on last night made Jon Culshaw and Alistair McGowan look like geniuses.

The only reason that some get put through is to break up the monotony of choirs, dance groups, unlikely looking opera singers and child acts who are there because of age.

You don't need to watch football to be aware of Beckham's squeaky voice.
